The complete data from the BJP on the number of promises that have been fulfilled by the party will be brought out soon. Prima facie, the BJP has already declared a number. The party, in the 549 promises it made, has claimed that 520 of them have either been met or are in the process of reaching successful completion.
This claim made by the party is indeed very important. The opposition has been extremely ignorant and blamed the BJP government for being incompetent in fulfilling the promises and assurances it made in the run-up to Lok Sabha elections 2014.
One of the ruling party’s leaders said “As many as 520 of them have either been fulfilled or work on them has been going on as their completion require a certain time period.” The leader has been privy to the development process of the party. The team has said that BJP has very well worked on the issues that it promised to work upon. The party has holistically addressed to issues like generating employment, internal security and social security.
The government has been active in expanding the LPG connection net in the country. The major achievement has been the benefits that poor households received. The Ujjwala and Mudra schemes, which were an essential part of the BJP’s development agenda, have been beneficial on a large scale. The schemes have covered a major portion of the rural population. It has also provided self-employment to many in the countryside.
BJP Vice President Vinay Sahasrabuddhe said, “The Modi government stands out for working on a long-term agenda and overcoming the ‘attraction of quick-fixes’ by turning its back on populism.” He cited GST as an example and the long term benefits it will provide.
The party has assured dignity to the poor and has also brought about significant positive changes in the living standards at large. The party’s vice president also said, “Is an opposition party like the Congress telling people that this is what it had done for them when it was in power so that they should vote for it?” He slammed the rivals for their negative agenda.
The Modi led government has proved itself on various parameters of development. They have aligned themselves with the promises they had made and have been dedicated towards the idea of development which is and was in the forefront of their agenda. The accusations by the opposition are fruitless. They are ignorant and have already realised that they do not stand a chance against the BJP and hence have been continuously blaming it.
