Yogendra Yadav, who was recently seen challenging the head of BJP’s IT cell Amit Malviya to prove that he hadn’t used his “Muslim” identity to play communal politics, has reverted on the proof that Malviya presented on Twitter. Amit Malviya had exposed Yadav through a video that clearly shows that he used religious sentiments to lure and influence minority communities.
Yogendra Yadav on Twitter accused Amit Malviya of doctoring his video and called the BJP ‘a factory of lies’ accusing Malviya of editing his speech. However, Amit Malviya promptly rebutted the claims made by Yadav and shared another video, which is a full version of the previous one. This full video proves that Yadav did not just brag his Muslim identity, he also spread communal disharmony and insulted RSS.
Clinching evidence that @amitmalviya had doctored the few seconds video he has circulated. Just listen to this small fragment from my speech.
BJP lie factory cut out my words: "na Hindu Banega na Musalman Banega"!
Also: "nafrat ja jawab Mohabbat se Dena hai"
Are we surprised? pic.twitter.com/j5wjXf1797

Y’day, one of @_YogendraYadav’s johnny tried intimidating me, perhaps on cue from Yadav, for supposedly an ‘edited’ video. So here is an ‘unedited’ one where he can be seen spreading hate against the RSS, promoting enemity between communities… Communal bigotry at a ‘शोक सभा’? pic.twitter.com/Z4SIkziDlG

In a TV debate between Amit Malviya and Yogendra Yadav, which was moderated by Rajdeep Sardesai, Yogendra Yadav explained his family tragedy and mentioned that he had lost his grandfather in communal violence. A Muslim mob had beheaded Yadav’s grandfather while his father was a witness to the event. However, Yogendra claimed that being a Gandhi disciple, his father did not carry any enmity against the community and rather gave his children Islamic names. This blatant religious politics by Yogendra Yadav was exposed by Amit Malviya.
Yadav’s name was Salim in fact and it was changed to Yogendra at the age of five. His friends and family still call him by that name. AAP leader Ramzan Choudhary had mentioned that he did not know that Yogendra Yadav was also known as “Salim” until his sister addressed Choudhary as “Salim Bhai’s friend”. Yogendra Yadav’s wife Madhulika Banerjee who is a professor at Delhi University also calls her husband Salim.
While Yogendra called Malviya and BJP a factory of lies, Malviya’s new video is proof that Yogendra also tried spreading communal disharmony and insulted RSS. He portrayed RSS as an extremely violent organisation, which harms the integrity of the nation.
Malviya, who also received intimidating messages that might have been cued from Yadav, said that Yogendra Yadav was promoting enmity between religious communities. The claim is true, as why would a political figure speak of communal violence and narrate a story gaining sympathy at a “Shok Sabha”? It was a clear attempt by Yogendra Yadav to play his caste politics and incite the minority group against the majority.
Amit Malviya has further exposed Yogendra Yadav and shunned all his claims about the video being doctored. Yogendra Yadav tried his best to establish the fact that his family story is an example of religious tolerance and secular ideologies. It is, however, a disgraceful political stunt to propagate caste and communal politics in India.
As has been conclusively proven by Amit Malviya that Yogendra Yadav indeed used his Muslim identity in a gathering of minorities for political purposes, will Yogendra Yadav keep up his promise and give up political career and public life?
