Today, Republic Bharat aired what can be undoubtedly described as the most important interview in the run-up to the Lok Sabha polls. Editor in chief of the popular news channel, Arnab Goswami, interviewed PM Modi. In his interview, PM Modi spoke at length about several important issues. The outstanding feature of the interview was that PM Modi answered all questions in a frank and outspoken manner. He did not mince his words and didn’t try to dodge any of the questions which were asked during the interview. In the course of his Republic Bharat interview, PM Modi gave witty replies about his political opponents dispelling the entire narrative built by the opposition and its ecosystem against him. His remarks about some of them must have left his opponents fuming. Some of the highlights of his interview were:
1. PM Modi calling Delhi CM Kejriwal a media phenomenon
On being asked about his competitor for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, PM Modi made it clear that the nation has made by its mind for the upcoming polls and as such the people of the country are not even searching for an alternative. But it might be important for the media. Thereafter, he mounted a verbal assault on Delhi CM Kejriwal. PM Modi said that even in 2014, the media had to prop up Kejriwal as a prime ministerial candidate even though he didn’t even have a legislator at that time. He, therefore, dismissed Delhi CM Kejriwal as a mere creation of the media.

2. PM Modi attacking Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu for backstabbing his father-in-law
When speaking about the opposition’s baseless charges of attacking institutions, Prime Minister Modi launched a stern attack on his opponents. In the interview with Republic Bharat, without naming anyone, he hinted at how the governments of the past had attacked independent institutions including the Judiciary. The prime minister ended with a stinging attack on the TDP supremo, Naidu and said that one who backstabbed his father-in-law and came to power should introspect before making allegations against others. PM Modi has attacked Naidu over this issue in the past as well.

3. When he made it clear that Sonia and Rahul are never coming back to power
In a blatant attack at the Gandhi dynasty, PM Modi said, “Gandhi parivaar phir satta mein aane waala nahi hai. Aap log bina dare sawaal pooche” (Gandhi family is not coming back to power, don’t be afraid in asking questions). Therefore, in one witty remark, PM Modi made it clear that the days of dynastic politics are over and also exposed how Congress undermines the Indian democracy whenever it comes to power.
4. When PM Modi went hammer and tongs after Pakistan PM, Imran Khan
Prime Minister Modi made it clear that India’s fight was against terrorism and not against the people of Pakistan. However, in what must have left Pakistan PM, Imran Khan and those who love to praise him for his “statesmanship”, PM Modi revealed in the intereview in Republic Bharat how he had engaged with Imran Khan when he was appointed as the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Prime Minister Modi made it clear that he had told Khan about how Pakistan had lost several wars with India and how Pakistan’s policy to foment terrorism against India also failed to hinder India’s glorious growth story. PM Modi’s comments, therefore, sent across a clear message that India is far superior to Pakistan. The fact that PM Modi has revealed this on national television is going to leave the Pakistan PM embarrassed and red-faced.
