The reason why Imran Khan is on his way out

The Indian liberal brigade is arguably the dumbest group of people in the world. When the Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan announced yesterday that the Indian pilot who was in captivity would be released and sent back to India as a gesture of peace, they were the only ones who took it at face value. Most countries around the world would have been well aware of the kind of pressure Pakistan was facing, even more so because in all likelihood they were partially responsible for it. Indians would have been well aware of the threats Pakistan was facing, since it was the Indian government which clarified that they would not allow Pakistan to use the captured pilots as leverage, and that irrespective of what the Pakistanis did to him, India would not take part in any dialogue with them and would reserve the right to strike them. Even the Pakistanis did not take Imran’s “peace gesture” at face value, more about that later in the article. But the Indian liberal brigade stuck to its guns. It was indeed a gesture of peace for them, it was that golden moment when the former cricketer had outmaneuvered the consummate Narendra Modi.

The issue with this line of thinking is not that they might have sold their pens to the ISI, or that their level of hatred for one man is sickening. The issue really is their dumbness. Every child knows that the Pakistani Prime Minister cannot even tinkle without the permission of the army. And here we had senior editors telling us that the swashbuckling Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan had beaten Narendra Modi in the game of optics. Now even with their ulterior motives, it was rather dumb of them to think that people would fall for such an asinine stunt.

Which begs the question, did the army then beat Prime Minister Modi in the game of optics? Perhaps using Imran Khan as a proxy? One can furnish several arguments about why that is not the case, but one doesn’t need to. The military establishment has openly expressed dissatisfaction with this move. Several important players in the Pakistani military establishment spoke against this move on Pakistani television last night, calling it cowardly. Some have taken to social media as well to express this sentiment.

Confused? If Imran would not have done this without the military asking him to, why would the military criticize this action on television and on social media? It’s quite simple really. Just as it was not Imran’s decision, the pressure and the threats weren’t weighing down on Imran Khan. Since it is the military that controls the country completely, they are the ones who went pale when the joint press conference of India’s army, navy and air force was announced. They are the ones who received messages from around the world telling them their moves were being watched closely, and that any wrong move would unleash hell. At the same time, especially after the Indian airstrikes, they were not in a position to lose anymore face. Lucky for them, they had a prime minister at their beck and call, a prime minister who could be made to say anything they please. With no option but to release the captured pilot, they made Imran announce it. And as India’s dumb liberals began orgasming, they themselves began publicly criticising Imran Khan as if it was his decision.

Prime Minister Modi began his term with the puppet Nawaz Sharif attending his swearing-in ceremony. He stopped by Pakistan too on his way back from Kabul to meet puppet Nawaz. But he left no stone unturned to undermine Pakistan at the same time. From international isolation to surgical strikes to disproportionate retaliation, he made a laughing stock out of Pakistan. Instead of mending their ways, the military eased out the puppet and replaced him with another puppet.

Imran Khan might be the darling of the Indian liberals, but he’s on his way out. For the military’s failures, yet another puppet will be gradually eased out. The military will never learn, until it ceases to exist altogether. Until then, puppets will come and go, and the Indian liberals will display their slavish stupidity.
