In a major move against hoax calls about names of people being removed from the voter’s list, the Delhi Police has raided many call centres, which are wholly managed by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
The Delhi police raided more than four such call centres, which has left the top brass of AAP aghast. Deputy CM Manish Sisodia sat outside the Election Commission of India office in protest against the same.
To quote his statement to the media, “After our meeting with the CEC (on Friday), we were assured that he will look into the matter but within an hour we see that a fourth raid is conducted on the call centers.”
He was backed by AAP supremo and incumbent CM of Delhi NCR, Arvind Kejriwal himself. He mentioned, “Why is CEC raiding our call centres and asking for our data? What is our crime? Pl tell our crime at least. Police has raided without any search warrant and is barging into server rooms and interrogating all call center agents. What is going on?”
Even Atishi Marlena, AAP candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls from East Delhi, backed the protest. She even mocked Delhi Police, labelling them as BJP’s Delhi Police. As of now, AAP leaders are continuing the protest, until the Chief Election Commissioner, Shri Sunil Arora, himself agrees to their demands and initiates action against the Delhi Police.
For those unaware, news of a string of hoax calls spread throughout the Delhi-NCR that people’s names were being deleted from the voter’s list. Even BJP leaders like Vijay Goel weren’t spared. As panic spread, an investigation revealed the dirty game that the hoax calls, made by AAP members. Despite the truth coming out, AAP continued to peddle the propaganda, compelling BJP leaders to appeal to EC to take strict action against such misleading phone calls.
Despite such strict action, AAP continued to shamelessly justify their despicable actions. To quote Manish Sisodia, “We are responsible for hiring the call centre employees to make people aware that names had been deleted from voters’ lists and the police should question the leaders instead of the workers.
They are not making proxy calls, they have been hired by the Aam Aadmi Party, we have entered into an agreement with them to do it.”
From a party that was launched to eliminate corruption in India, AAP has converted into a party that is ready to back internal corruption at all costs. From mocking the police forces to defending their members for even heinous crimes, it is sad to see that Arvind Kejriwal is backing such activities without any shame. We wonder as to how much more does Delhi have to suffer for his party’s despicable actions.
