According to news reports, Pakistani artists have been banned from Bollywood. The ban has been implemented in response to the terror attack in Pulwama which claimed the lives of more than 40 CRPF personnel. Federation of Western India Cine Employees has called for a ban over Bollywood working with Pakistani artists. If the filmmakers will not follow the given rule, the shooting of the film will be stalled. 24 film associations including the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), Indian Film & Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA) announced the same during the protest today at a suburban film studio.

After the dastardly 2016 Uri attacks, there was a raging debate in the social media about banning Pakistani artistes. The nationalists were all for kicking out the Pakistanis actors and musicians while the liberals were against their ban. Let there be no doubt in anyone’s mind that Pakistani artistes don’t attack Indian soldiers, they don’t pick up guns and they are certainly not terrorists. But they, in a way fund terror operations against India.
All Pakistani artistes are Pakistani tax-payers and they dutifully pay a part of their incomes to Pakistan. Majority of their taxes goes in the upkeep of ISI, Pakistan’s premier intelligence agency and the Pakistani army both of which are in cahoots with terrorist groups such as the JeD and the LeT. As per defence experts, Pulwama attack has the new ISI chief Munir’s stamp all over it. So picture this, we fund the Pakistani artistes who in turn funds agencies that don’t just empower and embolden anti-India terror ops but actively finance them too.
While Indian artists are the first ones to pen tweets about why cultural exchange is the only solution to the India-Pakistan enmity, Pakistani artistes don’t even offer any condemnations. They while earning their bread and butter in India remain loyal to their nation whose only purpose of existence is the destruction of India.
Also, the pre-requisite to International isolation of Pakistan is the national isolation of it and that can never materialize before we stop listening to Atif and Rahat’s songs and stop going gaga about Fawad Khan. Hence at a time when India is trying to isolate Pakistan through diplomatic, military and economic actions, the cultural isolation of Pakistan is a must.
Peace between India and Pakistan is not a viable option, it never has been a viable option. Every time we pitched for peace we got terror attacks, incursions, and intrusions in response. It’s time for Pakistani artists to pay the price, as much as any other citizen of Pakistan. They will have to be held responsible and bear the brunt of all the actions of their government. Finally, it seems the Indian Film Industry is coming together to make this possible.
