Musharraf warns Pakistan against nuclear adventurism

According to News 18 report, former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has said that India could “finish” Pakistan by attacking with 20 nuclear bombs if Islamabad dares to launch even a single nuclear attack against the neighboring country.

Karachi-based newspaper Dawn quoted Pervez Musharraf as saying: “Indian and Pakistan relations have again reached a dangerous level. There will be no nuclear attack. If we would attack India with one atomic bomb, then the neighbouring country could finish us by attacking with 20 bombs. Then the only solution is that we should first attack them with 50 atom bombs so that they cannot hit us with 20 bombs. Are you ready to first launch an attack with 50 bombs?”

Addressing a press conference in United United Arab Emirates (UAE), Pervez Musharraf further said that if India launched any attack in Kashmir, Pakistan could retaliate in other areas in Sindh and Punjab and “could teach them a lesson.”

It seems that in the aftermath of the dastardly Pulwama terror attack, Pakistan has gone into panic mode fearing that India might retaliate in a heavy and unprecedented manner. Pakistani citizenry, media and military establishment seem to be in a sense of panic. It looks as if they are anticipating a major assault by India to avenge repeated terror attacks carried out by Pakistan in India. The state of fear that Pakistan is in is further evidenced by Pervez Musharraf’s latest comment.

Pervez Musharraf’s comment comes over a week after the dastardly terror in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama which claimed life of 40 brave Indian soldiers. Pakistan based terror group- Jash-e-Mohammed claimed the responsibility of the gruesome terror attack in Pulwama.

Last week, the former Pakistan President accepted the Jaish-e-Mohammed’s role in the terror attack in Pulwama.  Musharraf said, “Maulana did it, Jaish did it but let us not blame the (Pakistan) government. There should be a joint investigation team to get the details. And if the government is involved it will be regrettable.” He also condemned the terror attack. Pervez Musharraf had said, “It is terrible. We regret and we condemn it. There is no sympathy that I will have. I was attacked by a Jaish cadre. I don’t think even Imran Khan would have sympathy for (Jaish).” He also said that J-e-M should be banned.

However, Musharraf has extended help to Pak terror groups in the past. Last year, Musharraf called himself the biggest supporter of LeT and its founder Hafiz Saeed. He had also said, “The Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and the Jamaat-ud Dawa (JuD) are fond of me.”

According to an Economic Times report, in an interview given to Pakistani TV news channel, When asked if he “liked” JuD chief Saeed too, Musharraf said, “Yes and I have met with him.” He also said that he supports Hafiz Saeed’s involvement in Kashmir. Hafiz Saeed is mastermind of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
