In an incident that exposes the fake narrative of Kashmiri students facing harassment within Indian cities, it has been reported that three Kashmiri students have been arrested for assaulting a collegemate over his Facebook post against the Pulwama terror attack. The three students, Gowhar Mushtaq, 21 from Baramulla; Haris Manzoor, 19 and Zakir Maqbool, 23, both from Kupwara, attacked Koushik Debnath, a student who had written a Facebook post supporting the army and condemning the bigot who carried out the dastardly attack.
Mushtaq is a second-year student while Manzoor is a first-year student. These fringe Kashmiri elements are students at the Spurthy Institute of Nursing. Zakir is a fourth-year B.Sc nursing student at Chinai nursing college in Bengaluru Rural district. They have been arrested on the charges of sedition by the Surya Nagara police. This comes at a time when the Kashmiri students and the mainstream media outlets (particularly the left-liberal ones), have been continuously alleging that there have been instances of harassment following the Pulwama terror attack.
Such was the propaganda by the liberal brigade that the CRPF launched a helpline for the Kashmiris based out of the state of Jammu & Kashmir. The twitter handle of the helpline is @CRPFmadadgaar. What is shocking is that many of the self-acclaimed intellectuals and liberals resorted to fake stories in order to make their version about Kashmiri students reliable. The CRPF tweeted, “ADVISORY: Fake news about harassment of students from #Kashmir is being propagated by various miscreants on social media. It is clear that the usual suspects were peddling lies and fake stories in order to divert the attention of the general public towards the Kashmiri students. It is clear that the nation is on the boil over the martyrdom of more than 40 CRPF soldiers and is demanding revenge from both the internal and external enemies. The liberal brigade couldn’t tolerate it and started propagating white lies.
The present incident of Kashmiri students attacking their collegemate suggests that reality is the complete opposite of what the mainstream media is trying to suggest. The Kashmiri students attacked their collegemate out of religious indoctrination and bigotry combined with a strong sense of Hinduphobia. On one hand, such elements are taking on innocent citizens who stand by the Armed Forces and are naturally simmering in anger against Pakistan and on the other hand, these elements are also playing victim by alleging that they are being targeted all over India. This has also exposed those who wanted to shift the nation’s attention from the martyrs to fake stories of harassment of Kashmiri students. This was a well-strategised and organised conspiracy to malign the nation.
Its time that the government stops falling prey to the fake news planted by the news traders and terror sympathisers. Those who believe that they can attack those who support the Indian Army with impunity must be brought to justice. We must not take any of this nonsense. The government should launch a helpline to report such anti-national and anti-India elements. A strong initiative is needed to cleanse such elements who want to weaken and destabilise India from within. Before we take on Pakistan we must ensure that such terror sympathisers within the nation are not only exposed but also dealt with in the appropriate manner.
