The 14th of Feb 2019 has turned out to be a black day for Indian history as more than 40 CRPF personnel were martyred in a suicide explosion at Awantipora in the Pulwama district of Jammu & Kashmir & Ladakh. The attack has left the nation shell shocked, with the masses furious at the cowardly attack and demanding stern retribution from the Indian armed forces.
As of now, a complete boycott of Pakistan has begun at every level. While PM Modi led the Central Government to rally for international support for effective retaliation against Pakistan, media agencies, whether print or digital or even television, are refusing to cover any event associated with Pakistan. Even Bollywood, which otherwise stays away from such cultural boycott programs, has joined with full force in order to boycott Pakistani artistes and singers.
Pertaining to this very scenario, actor Ajay Devgn posted the following tweet:-
In light of the current situation the team of Total Dhamaal has decided to not release the film in Pakistan.

According to the tweet, given the current situation of the country after Pulwama attack, Ajay Devgn, who is also the co producer of Total Dhamaal, the latest to the ‘Dhamaal’ franchise, has decided that the movie will not be released in Pakistan. Earlier, he had also announced that the team of ‘Total Dhamaal’ will donate Rs. 50 lakhs to the aggrieved families of the CRPF martyrs.
This decision only proves why Ajay Devgn is a man of his words. Unlike his counterparts, who like to live in a utopia of their own, Ajay Devgn is not only unapologetically patriotic, but he also chooses projects that glorify India in its true spirit. His upcoming projects, be it the Neeraj Pandey directed Chanakya biopic or the biopic on the legendary Maratha braveheart Tanaji Malusare, or even the Amit R Sharma directed biopic on Syed Abdul Rahim, the man behind Indian football’s golden days, stand testament to the fact that Ajay Devgn is one of the few personalities in Bollywood who is loved both by the masses as well as the classes.
Also, given how some sections of Bollywood had rallied behind Pakistani artistes despite the monstrosity of the Uri attacks, this decision as taken by Ajay Devgn and the other producers is nothing less than commendable. After the Uri attacks, when the Pakistani artistes and singers were debarred from performing in future Indian projects, most of the elite Bollywood cried hoarse, as if they were being robbed of their daily bread and butter. Need we remind you of how such film stars, especially those involved with ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ behaved when the decision by CINTAA was taken?
To be honest, it is time that India cuts all ties with Pakistan, especially the ones involved in cultural exchanges through movies. In this regard, the decision made by Ajay Devgn to not let Total Dhamaal be screened in Pakistan is extremely commendable and deserves praise from one and all.
