After Made in ‘Here’ and Made in ‘There’ mobile phones, the Congress President Rahul Gandhi nowadays seems obsessed with farm loan waiver. Gandhi scion promised to waive off farm loans in every state during the recently concluded elections. In fact, the Congress party includes farm loan waivers in almost its every election manifesto but fails to deliver efficiently on the promise. Just a few days ago, Rahul Gandhi said, “We will not let Prime Minister Narendra Modi sleep until loans of all farmers are waived.”
Rahul Gandhi also said, “The Congress party has managed to wake the CM’s of Assam & Gujarat from their deep slumber. PM is still asleep. We will wake him up too.”

Gandhi scion, for his tweet, got schooled on Twitter by Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The BJP leader said that Assam Government’s scheme is a subsidy scheme, and not a debt waiver. Sarma tweeted, “Rahul Ji, Assam Govt. has not announced any debt waiver scheme. We are offering 25% subsidy on short term agricultural loan along with full interests subvention. These schemes will continue unlike a one-time loan waiver. Completely opposite to your idea.”

Responding to Rahul Gandhi’s tweet, Sarma told media, “Our scheme is completely different, there’s nothing to wake up or sleep. Our schemes were announced one year back, it’s to mark the 125th anniversary of the Battle of Patharughat and it’s not debt waiver rather a subsidy scheme.”
On Wednesday, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that state cabinet will provide 25 per cent of loan amount upto Rs 25,000. He also responded to Rahul Gandhi on Twitter. Sarbananda Sonowal said, “Mr Gandhi, this attempt to take credit on an issue that is related to the livelihood & development of farmers is quite frivolous. You have no moral right to talk about Assam or its farmers. Everyone knows how your successive Govts in Assam looted the resources meant for farmers.” He further said, “As you seem to be interested in claiming credit for some of Assam Govt’s decision, I request you to take credit for all misdeeds, corruption and loot that had perpetuated all these decades under Congress rule, thus depriving the people of Assam in general & farmers in particular.” Sarbananda Sonowal also said that PM Modi doesn’t need a certificate from Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party, further adding, “The enormous development that Modi ji has brought to the lives of the common people in just 4 yrs is something your family didn’t care to achieve in the last 6 decades.”
Also, PM @narendramodi ji doesn't need a certificate from you and your party. The enormous development that Modi ji has brought to the lives of the common people in just 4 yrs is something your family didn't care to achieve in the last 6 decades.
