PM Modi in his maiden visit to the bastion of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi- Raebareli- launched a blistering attack against the Congress party. Addressing a massive rally, PM Modi accused the grand old party of working with India’s enemies “to weaken the Indian Army”. He said, “The people of the party that raises questions on surgical strikes, trust enemy’s claims* more than our Army, what can be expected of them?” PM Modi also said, “Congress leaders make statements here and applause is heard in Pakistan.”

Taking a dig at the Congress, PM Modi said:
आज देश के सामने दो पक्ष हैं।
एक पक्ष सरकार का, जो हर तरह से कोशिश कर रही है कि हमारी सेना की ताकत बढ़े। दूसरा पक्ष उन ताकतों का है, जो किसी भी कीमत पर देश को कमजोर करना हैं।
देश देख रहा है कि कांग्रेस उन ताकतों के साथ खड़ी है जो हमारी सेनाओं को मजबूत नहीं होने देना चाहतीं: PM

He further added that the nation has witnessed that Congress stands with the forces that don’t want our forces to strengthen.
PM also said, “For us, the country will always be bigger than the party. I want to tell the country that when it comes to the security of the country, the needs of the army, the honor of the soldiers should be talked about. The NDA government takes care of only one thing – national interest. This is our upbringing.”
PM Modi took the dynasty head on and one by one demolished their false statements. Referring to the apex court’s verdict on Rafale deal case, PM Modi said that the Congress leveled allegations against him, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and even Supreme Court of lying as the party itself knows “nothing but lies”.

He said, “They can speak as many lies as they want, but it does not matter. Congress governments have always been biased against our forces. I want to make it clear that the country will never forget and pardon Congress government’s delay in armed forces’ renovation and modernization.” PM Modi quoted Ramcharit Manas to make his point.

PM Modi also invoked Augustawestland scam and apparently took a jibe at Sonia Gandhi. He said, “We brought back (alleged AgustaWestland middleman) Christian Michel. We saw how Congress immediately sent in its lawyers on his behalf. We have no Ottavio Quattrocchi or Michel mamas (uncles) to defend.”
PM Modi also exposed the Congress propaganda with respect to Rae Bareli. The Congress has maintained that Modi government is derailing the development of Rae Bareli. PM Modi rubbished all the charges and said, “Only 3 per cent of the machines were working in 2014, after we came to power, in 4 months, we changed this. This factory was approved in 2007. The aim was to make 1,000 new coaches. The factory was ready. But for 4 years, these coaches were taken for painting. The factory was never allowed to function. I am proud to say that Raebareli coach factory will soon be a global hub. Just like UP, development in Raebareli is also fast-growing.”
In what is his first visit to Raebareli, PM Modi flagged off the Humsafar Express and inspected the Modern Rail Coach Factory. He also threw open the renovated 133-km Rae Bareli stretch of the National Highway 232. PM Modi also laid the foundation stone and inaugurated projects worth Rs 1,100 crore during the visit.
