In a recent development, HS Phoolka, a Supreme Court lawyer and Aam Aadmi Party leader claimed that there was strong evidence against the newly appointed CM of Madhya Pradesh, Kamal Nath’s involvement in ‘1984 anti-Sikh riot’. He further added, “Wheel of justice is yet to turn against him”.
HS Phoolka who has been representing the victims of the riots in the court case had earlier said that instead of punishing Kamal Nath for his involvement in the riots, the Congress party is promoting him as the CM of Madhya Pradesh. Meanwhile, Delhi BJP spokesperson Tajinder Singh Bagga claimed that the Congress party is aware of Nath’s involvement in 1984 riots and that’s why he was removed from the post of the Congress’ in charge of Punjab before the assembly election of Punjab.
HS Phoolka stood on his previous stand against Kamal Nath and claimed that he was present near Gurdwara Rakab Ganj when it was attacked by a mob on November 1, 1984, during the riots. “We are legally exploring how to go with Kamal Nath’s case”, he further added.
“Whenever the Gandhi family comes to power, it protects the perpetrators of the 1984(anti-Sikh) riots. Now Rahul Gandhi and the Gandhi family are rewarding Kamal Nath as chief minister of Madhya Pradesh.” Shiromani Akali Dal leader Manjit Singh Sirsa told reporters.
Kamal Nath is a serial offender of communal harmony. Recently, he was caught on camera bashing Hindus while campaigning in Madhya Pradesh elections. In the video, he told to Muslim clerics that ‘Congress will surely deal with the Hindus after the election, for now, the Muslims should stand with the Congress.’ He went on to say, “If we don’t get 90% Muslim votes then we will face a huge loss. We have the numbers. You know where the Muslims votes. You have to take care where those votes were cast. If we have received fewer votes then what are the reasons behind it. You have to postmortem the reasons behind it.”
Despite the video evidence, no step was taken against him. Both the Congress party as well as main-stream media treated him as ‘the holy cow’. The Congress party is known to provide fertile ground to flourish communalism and anti-India sentiments. Congress party is totally dependent on appeasement politics in order to survive in the Indian political landscape. The recent statement by Chhattisgarh CM Kamal Nath, where he announced incentives for industries hiring 70 percent local workers, will do nothing but promote the regionalism. The Congress party’s stand on these issues clearly indicates that they will do anything to win an election.
In the same 1984 anti-Sikh riot case, another leader of the Congress party Sajjan Kumar was sentenced to life imprisonment, after 34 years. He was charged with the offenses of murder, promoting enmity between groups and defiling public property. The recent decision of the Delhi High Court brings hope to the Sikh families as finally the perpetrators of the most heinous and inhumane crimes during the 1984 riots are getting punished.
