It seems Congress’ Ashwin Joshi who lost the elections in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore-III constituency isn’t able to digest his defeat. While addressing Congress leaders and party workers in a meeting at the party office, Joshi advised the office-bearers to prepare a list of people working against the Congress candidate, along with a list of police and other officials so that proper actions can be taken against them.
Joshi said, “I wanted to ask those, who will become ministers, not to give shelter to those people supporting BJP, whom I will beat up. A list of the goons and those involved in betting and selling illicit liquor should also be prepared and these people should be externed from Indore,” he added.
Ashwin Joshi was contesting against BJP veteran leader Kailash Vijayvargiya’s son, Akash Kailash Vijayvargiya from Indore-III constituency. Apparently, Joshi has been a three-time MLA from this constituency but lost to Akash with a margin of 5751 votes.
After the results were announced Joshi alleged that Vijayvargiya had distributed money in slum areas to woo the voters and his complaints made in this regard were not entertained. In the meeting, he also said, “Aap sirf mere phiche khade rahna, main inko nipta dunga” (You stand behind me and I will finish them off).
He also advised senior party leaders including city working president Vinay Bakliwal and MLA, Sanjay Shukla, to prepare a list of those, who deceived the party, as they must be harassed so they know the consequences of cheating the party.”These people should be taught a lesson, else we will lose next election,” he said. “We should ensure that those police officers and other officials, who favor us, should stay here. Besides, those advocates who support us should be recruited on government posts,” he further added.
This was something that is expected out of Congress leaders, we saw how Kamal Nath openly threatened government officials during his electoral campaign. Giving warning signals he had then said, “Those employees should be ready to face the ‘consequences’ and his ‘wrath’ when his party forms the government in the state”.
Spewing venom against officials he had said, “They should respect the uniforms they wore.” He even went on to say, “Yaad rakhna, 11 ke baad 12 bhee aata hai” (all officials should remember that there will be 12thafter 11th).” Here he was referring to the vote-counting day that happens to fall on 11th of December.
Prior to this, a video of Kamal Nath went viral, where he can be seen addressing a meeting of Muslims saying, “They (RSS) will instigate you. We will deal with them later. But till the day of elections, you will have to tolerate them.” So when the party chief only has been taking such stance and resorting to harsh words then the party cadre will follow suit. Also, it seems that Ashwin Joshi is devastated as he lost elections when his party has won unprecedented 115 seats.
Earlier, Congress winning candidate from Rajasthan’s Bengu seat Rajendra Singh Bidhuri said that he will only carry out the development work in the areas from where he has been voted and will leave the areas from where people haven’t voted for Congress.
