On Sunday, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh said that the opening of Kartarpur Corridor is a stratagem of the Pakistan Army and the ISI. To bolster his notion he cited the fact that Pakistan Army General Qamar Javed Bajwa had disclosed the news of opening the Kartarpur Corridor to Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu even before Imran Khan took oath as the Prime Minister of Pakistan. In an interview with a TV channel, he said, “The opening of the Kartarpur Corridor is clearly a game plan of the ISI,” he further added that a bigger conspiracy seems to have been hatched by Pakistan Army against India.
CM Amarinder Singh has been clearly able to see the nefarious designs of Pakistan but Navjot Singh Sidhu seems to have totally missed the scenario. Sidhu played the role of a ‘useful idiot’ for the disgraced Pakistani Army and notorious ISI. Sidhu should have acted more responsibly and shown some maturity; geopolitics and diplomacy is not a comedy show. His comedy circus habits are creating troubles for the country. Pakistan’s main aim behind opening the Kartarpur Corridor is to promote and allow Khalistani activities. Pakistan aims to revive militancy and Khalistani movement on the Indian side of Punjab. At the Kartarpur Sahib inauguration, a pro-Kalistani terrorist, Gopal Chawla was seen shaking hands with Pakistani Army Chief. The presence of an anti-India personality in the event is a testimony to Pakistan’s sympathy and love for the extremist forces. His picture with Navjot Singh Sidhu surfaced on the internet after which Sidhu received huge flak on social media.
Moreover, Gopal Chawla’s name also cropped up in the investigations into the grenade attack on the Nirankari Bhawan in Amritsar in which three people lost their lives. He is also accused of stopping many Indian diplomats from visiting a Gurdwara in Lahore. Chawla had in the past shared stage with Lashkar-e-Taiba chief and mastermind of 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, Hafiz Saeed, and had openly advocated war against India. In an interview to The Republic news channel, Chawla admitted, that Pakistani Government supports him.

Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh also admitted that Pakistan was attempting to revive militancy in Punjab and thus, everyone should be wary of all of its gambits, no matter how grand they appear to be. Sidhu and leaders of other political parties should take Captain’s statement seriously and must put an end to their love for Pakistan. In response to a question about the security status in Punjab, Singh warned Pakistan against carrying on with its nefarious designs and asked the notorious nation to desist from trying to foment trouble in Punjab. He also asked Pakistan to put an immediate end to the killing of Indian soldiers at the border. Singh further said that Punjab police is well-equipped with high tech weapons and ammunition to tackle any exigencies carried out in Punjab. The Chief Minister of Punjab said that ISI is trying to create law and order problem in Punjab by exploiting the religious sentiments of the innocent Sikh youth in Canada, USA and even in Europe, and providing them with funds and weapons.
In his interview, CM Amarinder Singh lambasted the organization ‘Sikhs For Justice’, for supporting terrorism in Punjab. He said that the people of Punjab, especially the Sikhs from rural areas, would not support the so-called referendum 2020. The Chief Minister further added that SFJ’s claims of the Kartarpur Corridor being a gift of Pakistan also had no takers in Punjab. ‘Referendum 2020’ is a secessionist movement demanding separate homeland for the Sikhs called Khalistan. A website called Referendum 2020 reads- “Actively and peacefully advocating the call given by SFJ to hold referendum for Sikhs’ right to self determination and to liberate Indian Occupied Punjab”. The words “Indian Occupied Punjab” suggest that the main idea of Referendum 2020 is to liberate only the Indian Punjab for the Sikhs, while the referendum does not seem to be concerned about Punjab in the Pakistani side or towards the Pakistani Sikhs who are evidently living a more miserable life than their Indian brothers. The pro-Khalistani group has always been silent on the condition of Pakistani Sikhs. The only reason behind this appears to be the fact that Pakistan actively supports the pro-Khalistan movement.
