Lalu Yadav’s elder son Tej Pratap Yadav has filed for divorce from his wife Aishwarya Rai. He filed for divorce in Patna court on Friday, 2 November. They had tied knot this year on May 12.
Their wedding ceremony was nothing less than a melodrama with posters dotting the streets of Bihar showing them as avatars of Lord Shiva and Parvati soon after their engagement ceremony on April 18. The ceremony saw a huge turnout of RJD workers, who had come to meet party chief Lalu Yadav.
Several RJD workers and supporters present barged into the venue and vandalized food stalls. They also stole the cutlery including plates, spoons, and glasses along with cold drinks and ice creams.
Former Deputy Chief Minister & Tej Pratap’s younger brother had to apologize for the mismanagement. He tweeted, “The wedding venue which is spread over several acres turned out to be very small in comparison to the large turnout of guests”. He linked the mismanagement to his father & RJD Supremo Lalu Yadav’s popularity as he said that they didn’t anticipate such a huge footfall coming to Veterinary College ground to bless the couple in presence of their beloved leader. As he tweeted, “Had I reckoned that lacs and lacs of people will come to the marriage venue to bless Tej Pratap and Aishwarya in presence of their beloved leader Lalu Prasad Yadav I would have organized the marriage at the Gandhi Maidan which is a bigger place. I apologize for the inconvenience that has been caused to the guests”.
Tej Pratap, also the former Cabinet Minister in Bihar Government & sitting MLA from Mahua constituency filed a petition seeking divorce from his wife of six months citing incompatibility issues, his lawyer said. The separation has been sought invoking Section 13 A of the Hindu Marriage Act under which either spouse can unilaterally seek divorce, said lawyer Yashwant Kumar Sharma, who filed the petition on behalf of Tej Pratap at a civil court in Patna. The matter has been listed for hearing on November 29.
On being questioned on this development he denied giving any answers as he said, “I cannot give much details. I was only told by my client that he and his wife were not compatible and hence he wanted divorce.”
Tej Pratap too didn’t seem too eager in answering questions of the journalists waiting outside the court premises. He rushed to Ranchi where his father & former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Yadav is admitted.
Talking of Aishwarya Rai, she too hails from a political family background her grandfather, Daroga Rai was Chief Minister of Bihar, her father Chandrika Rai is a former minister and a Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader. Miss Rai graduated from Miranda House in History(Hons.) & completed her management degree from Amity University. As soon as the news of Tej Pratap Yadav seeking filing petition for divorce broke out twitter was flooded with reaction Tej Pratap Yadav has filed for divorce from his wife Aishwarya Rai, one of the tweets read :

There were news floating around of Aishwarya likely to contest Lok Sabha Election in 2019 from Chapra constituency, as there were hoardings up on the streets of Bihar on RJD’s foundation where she was seen placed alongside Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi, Misa Bharti, Tej Pratap Yadav & Tejaswvi Yadav. On the other hand Tej Pratap Yadav is all set to be launched as an actor in a movie titled, ‘Rudra-The Avtar’.
At least here he won’t have to share the screen space as he had to, in the political arena wherein there were news of rifts between him and Tejaswi, since the latter became the de facto party head after Lalu’s illness and him being jailed under fodder scam.
Now that ‘Duggal sahab’ has decided to be a bachelor again, we wish Tejaswi all the best for his upcoming movie.
