In a development that could put the opposition parties in a fix, Rajya Sabha member of Parliament Rakesh Sinha said that he would bring a private member’s bill seeking construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya, in the upcoming weekend session of the Parliament. Following the Supreme Court’s order adjourning the hearing on the Ram Janmabhoomi dispute, chorus for legislative route on the issue was growing. Now it seems that Rakesh Sinha is doing that job for the BJP. The opposition had been claiming that Ram temple is only a matter of politics for the BJP. But with a BJP member of the Parliament bringing this bill, that argument stands negated.
Rakesh Sinha also challenged the opposition leaders to support the bill in a series of tweets. In a tweet he asked those who keep asking the BJP and RSS about the date of construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, if they would support his bill.

In yet another tweet he asked, “Will Rahul Gandhi, Sitaram Yechury, Akhilesh Yadav, Mayawati and Lalu Prasad Yadav support the private member bill on Ayodhya? They frequently ask the date (of Ram temple construction) from RSS and BJP, now onus is on them to answer.”
Will @RahulGandhi @SitaramYechury @laluprasadrjd Mayawati ji support Private member bill on Ayodhya? They frequently ask the date ‘तारीख़ नही बताएँगे ‘ to @RSSorg @BJP4India ,now onus on them to answer

He also sought advice of the opposition leaders who had been vocal in their argument that the BJP does not reveal the date for construction of Ram temple, Sinha tweeted. The way the BJP member of Parliament has been putting this difficult question to the opposition leaders, has clearly left them red faced and in a tight spot. They can no longer afford an ambiguous stand on the Ram Janmabhoomi issue and will have to clear their position without further delay.
Will write Preface (introduction)of my private member bill on Ram temple in Ayodhya.request तारीख़ पूछने वालों को 2send me feedback.if @RahulGandhi @laluprasadrjd @yadavakhilesh Mayawati ji @ncbn ask me to visit their residences I would go to know their valuable opinion.

With this, the BJP has initiated the legislative process on the issue and this is set to materialize in the upcoming winter session of the Parliament. This has also cleared BJP’s position on the sensitive issue and now it is for the opposition parties to take a stand. This has firmly put the ball in the opposition’s court and now the opposition leaders cannot get away by merely criticizing or questioning the BJP/ RSS, over the Ram Janmabhoomi dispute. They will have to actively involve themselves and take an unambiguous position. It is clear that no bill can be passed by the BJP alone and once the process for a legislative solution to the issue has been initiated, the opposition will have to play its role.
The bill is going to be a crucial one and will test the viability of a legislative instrument at finding a solution for the Ram Janmabhoomi dispute. It will not only test waters around a legislative route, but will also also expose the hypocrisy of the opposition parties which had been critical of the BJP and the RSS over the Ram Janmabhoomi dispute. Now, that the BJP has made its intentions clear, entire burden has been placed on the opposition parties. This brilliant move by Rakesh Sinha has for sure put the opposition in a spot of bother.
