The Congress seems to be touching new highs as far as desperation to come back in power is concerned. It is doing everything that it can even if it means jeopardising the nation’s internal security. This time around the Congress has tried destabilising the state of Gujarat. Congress leader Alpesh Thakor seems to be the mastermind behind the recent attacks on Uttar Pradesh and Bihari migrants in the state of Gujarat.
Recently, a video surfaced in which Alpesh Thakor, a Congress MLA from Gujarat, can be seen inciting a crowd of Gujarati people to carry out attacks on the migrants living in the state. He can be seen accusing the migrants of looting the state and also abetting the crowd to indulge in widespread violence forcing the migrants to leave the state. It is preposterous how a Congress leader is openly inciting mob violence in order to make petty electoral gains. In fact, Alpesh led Thakor Sena is believed to be involved in a big way as far as the exodus of North Indian migrants in the state of Gujarat is concerned. Even among the arrests made by the police into the attacks within the state, a large proportion of arrested people belonged to the Thakor Sena.
This is not for the first time that the Congress MLA, Alpesh Thakor has been involved in a controversy. In fact, since the days of Gujarat assembly polls campaign, Thakor has been involved in several controversies. Thakor, who is closely associated with other demagogues, Jignesh Mevani and Hardik Patel had joined the Congress in 2017 and since then he has been in news for all the wrong reasons. In December last year, Alpesh Thakor made distasteful and unsavoury comments about prime minister Modi and this was enough to show the kind of character that Thakor possesses. In a statement which once again made the Congress a matter of derision, Alpesh Thakor had stated that prime minister Narendra Modi was dark in complexion just like Alpesh Thakor but after he became the chief minister of Gujarat, Modi started eating mushroom imported from Taiwan and got a fair complexion. Thakor also alleged that prime minister Modi eats mushrooms worth Rs. 4 lakh everyday and that is why he does not like what the poor in the country eats. This year another video surfaced, in which Alpesh Thakor can be seen throwing notes in an event. According to the guidelines issued by the Reserve Bank of India, the use of currency notes to make garlands, for the purpose of decoration and throwing in an event is not allowed. However, Alpesh Thakor unabashedly admitted to showering notes in the event and argued that it was for the cause of girl education.

It is clear that the Congress is using Alpesh Thakor as a medium to incite violence against North Indian migrants in the state of Gujarat. For petty electoral gains, Congress has imperilled the internal security of the nation. Alpesh Thakor is a Congress MLA and the Congress is vicariously responsible for the way he has been abetting the people of Gujarat to indulge in violence against the North Indian migrants. The Congress looks at everything while keeping electoral prospects in mind. Allegations of abetting violence during the Dalit protests had also surfaced against the INC and now it seems that the Congress is again using political violence in order to set an election narrative.
