As the #MeToo campaign is intensifying in India, so are the cases. Each case is now bringing a face of the otherwise liberal elite, and shows mercy to none. One such case has now been brought forward by actor Adhyayan Suman, and this gives the #MeToo campaign an interesting turn.
Recently, Adhyayan shared an incident of his own on Twitter :-
A lot of people asking me to share my #metoo story..iam sorry but when I did that 2 years ago I was shamed and humiliated…my parents whom I love the most had to listen to some obscene things on National tv ..I was clearly told that a guy with a failed career doesn’t

Have the right to share his pain full and dark experience. The handful of people who supported me I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. And I am happy that at lest this moment is giving a chance to all the people who have had to #MeToo

According to the mentioned tweets, Adhyayan Suman was not only bullied by Kangana Ranaut, but also assaulted more than once. In one assault, he was left with severe injuries. Recollecting his earlier narration of events 2 years ago, he even alleged that nobody tried to hear his traumatic experience.
For those unaware, actor Adhyayan Suman once had a fling with actress Kangana Ranaut, before they broke up unceremoniously by 2011. Later on, Kangana Ranaut allegedly linked up with actor Hrithik Roshan, and the rest as they say is history.
Coming back to Adhyayan’s allegations, he not only accused Kangana Ranaut of being mean to him, but also alleged than when he narrated his ordeal earlier, nobody lent an ear to him. Instead everyone, from media to the ‘woke feminists’ mocked his tales, even dragging his father, popular comedian Shekhar Suman into the mess.
According to a press brief, Adhyayan Suman was once told by a prominent media journalist that ‘an actor with a failed career doesn’t have the right to narrate his experience.’ Imagine, if this was said not to Adhyayan, but some female actress, the very feminist brigade silent on this would’ve brought the whole house down, as in the recent case of Ira Trivedi.
Adhyayan was vociferously backed by his father Shekhar, who accused journalist Rahul Kanwal of mocking his sentiments, as reflected below:-
Rahul Kanwal is a despicable journalist,a bootlicker, who needs to be hauled up and shamed for wat he did to Adhyayan by sucking up to a star. This guy stinks. If he has a conscience, which i doubt he has,he shld come forward n apologise @IndiaToday

Rahul Kanwal the sycophant journalist openly sucked up to a female star and publicly humiliated n marginalized Adhyayan n made fun of him on his channel wen he spoke up about his woes.will he now do the same to all the women who have come forward to speak up?

In a turbulent period like this, it is difficult to ascertain which side is right or wrong. However, if Adhyayan is speaking the truth, it casts a serious doubt on Kangana Ranaut and some of her accusations in a similar case against Hrithik Roshan, where she accused him of cheating on her. Are these not double standards now?
Also, Adhyayan’s tale also signifies how deeply ignorant we are to incidents of bullying of males, their molestation and other horrible incidents some of them have to endure. Much as we criticize Shashank Khaitan for his over the top treatment of subjects, he did try to portray male molestation in his flick, ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’.
However, not only the characters in the sequence, but also the audience laughed at this sequence, clearly ignoring the seriousness of this issue. Just because males are allegedly the stronger sex, that doesn’t mean that their harassment cases are to be laughed at.
It is now time that we start giving a thought about the other side. We’re not belittling the victims, but we can’t let power hungry people, especially the so called feminists to call the shots as per their wimps. If Adhyayan gets justice, it will send a positive signal among the distressed men. Just because such incidents look improbable, doesn’t mean they cannot happen.
