The Congress carried out a shameful attack on Smriti Irani. Several twitter users who seemed to be either Congress workers or party supporters started imputing allegations on Smriti Irani that she had made derogatory statements about the Congress. These Congress trolls who seem to be having a misogynistic mindset went on posting a flurry of tweets in an attempt to tarnish the image of Smriti Irani. They went on to make lewd comments about Smriti Irani which show the level to which Congress can stoop in order to make electoral gains.

These twitter handles claiming to be either a part of the organisation structure of the Congress or closely attached to it, have alleged that union minister Smriti Irani has threatened to expose every Congressman threadbare. In a meme being circulated among these twitter handles, it has been stated in a very perverted way and those posting have also claimed that there has been a spike in Congress membership following this statement. Some of the twitter users involved in this character assassination went on to make some of the most lewd and objectionable remarks about Smriti Irani.

One of the Congress worker/ supporter involved in spreading this fake and objectionable remark about Irani had the audacity to claim her conduct does not behold the dignity of an Indian woman and that timidness is the hallmark of Indian women. This is an extremely patriarchal statement in itself but he went on to make it even more objectionable when he demanded that Irani apologizes for this statement. Therefore, she was asked to apologize for a statement that she never made. Another Twitter user went on to make obscene comments about her in reference to Congress president Rahul Gandhi. Another Twitter troll who seems to be a Congress supporter made obnoxious remarks about Smriti Irani and prime minister Narendra Modi.

Leave alone the perverted implication that Congress workers are giving, Smriti Irani never made this statement. There is no authentic social media post, no tweet, no media input or even interview bytes which would even remotely suggest that she ever made this statement. It is clear that the union textiles minister never made any such statement. Whatever is being imputed upon her is nothing but the perverted minds of Congress workers and supporters at play. It shows how badly frustrated the Congress as a political organisation is and to what level its workers can stoop for making electoral gains. They are not even sparring the dignity of a woman for making petty electoral gains.
In reality, the INC fears that its chief will lose to Smriti Irani from Amethi. While Rahul Gandhi goes on vacations on a regular basis deserting his parliamentary constituency, it is Irani who is going the extra mile in order to ensure that Amethi is also brought on the path of progress, growth and development. While Rahul Gandhi treats Amethi as his fiefdom, Irani is working for the people of Amethi even though she lost from Amethi in 2014. It seems that the INC has realized that given the way Rahul Gandhi is declining in popularity and Irani is going up in stature with every passing day, their chief is going to face the heat in Amethi and might as well end up losing to her. Moreover, the INC is already getting diminished from the map of the country and it is also possible that even Rahul Gandhi is not able to save his stronghold. However, this will only backfire for the Congress as the voters will be absolutely disgusted with this shameless act by the Congress.
