One thing that the Lutyens’ media, who are die hard sympathizers of Maoists and Naxals, never discuss the instances of atrocities committed by the Maoists against tribals and local populace in the areas controlled by them. One such case of atrocity has recently come up from the Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh where callous Naxals mercilessly thrashed 35 villagers for refusing to attend a meeting that they had called in the area.
In Dantewada,30 villagers tied to trees & trashed brutally for refusing to attend meeting. This is how #Naxals operate. Next time u hold #MeTooUrbanNaxal banners without applying your mind, remember THIS is what you're saying you supporthttps://t.co/J8Y6BPec2c

According to Dantewada Superintendent of Police Abhishek Pallava, around 10 villagers suffered serious injuries in the attack. 16 villagers have been admitted in the Kuakonda community health centre. He further said, “Rest of the villagers who sustained injuries in the Naxalites’ beating refused treatment as they feared that Maoists would punish them for seeking police help.” Nine brave villagers have come forward to lodge complaints against the Naxals.
This is the real cruel face of Maoists. They exploit and abuse those for whom they proclaim to be fighting. Naxals commit brutalities against tribals and villagers for their survival. They are not concerned for farmers, tribals or poor villagers; the only thing that matters to these Naxals is POWER. They have an insatiate lust for power. It clearly reflected in their following slogans: ‘Power comes from the barrel of the gun’, ‘area-wise seizure of power’, ‘struggle not for land and for corps but for political power’. Their movement has nothing to do with the welfare of the people, what they actually want is to capture power at the Centre through armed revolution and impose the ideology of Communism on India by force.
The main motive of Indian Maoists is: “To overthrow the Government of Republic of India and establishment of a Maoist regime in India by destroying the state machinery and establish the Indian People’s Democratic Federal Republic.” In their process to achieve their objective, thousands of innocent people have been killed and the mad killings are still going on.

Urban people and charlatans who support Naxals are equally responsible for the suffering of the tribals and the villagers at the hands of Maoists. Recently, a research paper authored by PV Ramana for Institute for Defence Studies and Analysis (IDSA) has exposed the hypocrisy of top Naxal leadership. In a research paper it has been discovered that the top leadership is using the Naxal movement as a vehicle to enrich themselves, while poor disillusioned youth are sent to sacrifice their lives in the jungles. It has been found that top Naxal leadership are diverting the funds and paying in lakhs to get engineering and medical seats to their relatives in private colleges.
Basically, this whole Naxal movement is a nexus of unethical businessmen, journalists, NGOs and academicians running an extortion racket in the name of equality, at the expense of poor tribals and poor farmers/villagers.
