CM Yogi Adityanath is well known for his bold and straightforward attitude. He does not mince words while raising any issue and he doesn’t fall for the nonsense of political correctness. He calls a spade a spade. On Wednesday, he did it again. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attacked the Congress President Rahul Gandhi while speaking at BJP OBC Morcha social representative meet. CM Yogi said, “When greatness is imposed, then the person becomes Rahul Gandhi. If it is received from Karma and Efforts then the person gets stature like Narendra Modi.”
CM Yogi further attacked the Congress and supporters of Naxalites. He said, “Today the Congress and its allies in politics have reached to the extent of openly supporting Naxalite organizations. These people have never hesitated to speak in favor of the elements involved in terror incidents inside the state and they have never hesitated to withdraw cases against such terror elements.” Apart from this, CM Yogi also announced that the name of Eta Medical College would be named after Avantibai.
Rahul Gandhi and the Congress have a sense of entitlement to the post of Prime Minister in India, the party’s internal setup which is bereft of democracy has boosted the solid belief that any person born in the Nehru-Gandhi family could be considered an alternative to the PM post. Dynasty politics plays a big part in the Congress and the ascension of other leaders too depends on their closeness to the members of the Nehru-Gandhi family. CM Yogi’s attack on Rahul Gandhi has come at a time when the Congress president is off for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra to rebuild his image of a Janeudhari Hindu. This attack will not only weaken the claim of Rahul Gandhi on the PM candidature from the joint opposition but could also possibly trigger a disgruntlement between the other opposition parties which want their leaders to be seen as the PM candidate.
Mamata Banerjee, Sharad Pawar, Mayawati, Mulayam Singh Yadav and a couple of other people too are in the fray to become the PM candidate from the joint opposition. Scathing attacks on Rahul Gandhi from inside the opposition such as from RJD leaders have been voiced earlier too, early today TRS chief and Telangana CM KCR also called Rahul Gandhi a ‘buffoon’, meaning that the Congress leader was not at all a threat to the other parties. Congress will have to introspect and look for another candidate from its ranks if it wants to be taken seriously in the upcoming polls, if it intends to persist with Rahul at the helm it might have to face a never seen before rout in elections. CM Yogi has just stated what the people of India felt prior to the 2014 Lok Sabha elections and continues to feel till date, a sentiment which has fallen on deaf ears of the Congress leadership every single time.
