Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s foreign trips and his infamous speeches have troubled the Congress to a great extent. The timing of the four day foreign trip to Germany and United Kingdom in itself was questionable considering the whole country was focused on Kerala and parts of Karnataka which are suffering from the most devastating floods in the recent decades. A foreign trip at this hour of crisis in the country especially when Rahul Gandhi is the leader of the opposition and his party is in power in Karnataka expresses a lack of empathy in Rahul. It has almost become habitual for Rahul Gandhi to leave the country whenever the country or the party is in a state of crisis. Shying away from leading the party workers from the front is another problem which Rahul Gandhi faces and his guffaws at interviews and speeches given in and outside India are numerous. These many instances occurring with the Congress president cannot be a mere coincidence, it is impossible for even Rahul Gandhi to make a mess out of every situation he is provided with.
Every time the Congress party tries to revive Rahul’s image in the country, a speech or media interview surfaces which breaks the whole image and Rahul again goes back to square one. The timing of his visits and speeches coincide with important events which make them appear even more prominently. The number of times this has happened, it simply cannot be termed as mere coincidence, a bigger plot seems to be underway. Right from his advent into the political scene to the point up to now when he has created controversy after controversy in his four day trip to United Kingdom and Germany, his career seems to be sabotaged by someone high up the political ladder within the Congress party. Someone really close to Rahul Gandhi seems to be misleading him at every point of time and such a close relation can be maintained only by someone who has an unrestricted access to him and can steer his mind easily. An undercover hit job on Rahul Gandhi seems to be underway and it has been ongoing since long, it is high time the Congress leaders recognise and weed out the people who have been making a mockery of their president while managing to stay behind the curtains.
The recent statements he made on international forums speak volumes about his lack of maturity and knowledge about topics which are very close to India and Indians at large. The buzz which Rahul Gandhi creates with his statements, acts like a storm which ravages his and his party’s credibility from the inside. Even Congress mouthpieces find it difficult to spin his yarns and make them sound positive to the people. The fast approaching 2019 Lok Sabha elections warrant Rahul Gandhi to be at his absolute best and stay away from the debacles which he is prone to making at every step of the way. The Congress party should think seriously about ripping off Rahul’s close aides and people who have enjoyed a long relationship with him and can steer and command his decisions. Rahul needs some excellent advisors and a few top notch speech writers to steer some of the public opinion in his favour or at the very least reclaim the lost grounds. As of today his misspelt speeches end up hurting his party more than any opposition and it is high time that Sonia Gandhi realizes the need to overhaul the coterie which holds sway over him, otherwise defeat and more public ridicule will follow Rahul Gandhi wherever he goes.
