The Kanwariyas have often been demonized by the left-liberal secular mafia. In fact, a malicious campaign against the Kanwar Yatra is being carried out by the Lutyens’ media. They are cherry picking one or two unfortunate incidents of minor skirmishes to tarnish the image of entire Kanwar Yatra and Kanwariyas. But they have maintained a stoic silence on the reports where Kanwariyas have been attacked. Once again Kanwariyas became victim of brutal attack against them. A mob comprising of Muslim youth attacked Kanwariyas in Fatehpur town of Sikar district in Rajasthan. According to an Asian Age report, “Manoj Swami who was part of the Kanwaria procession, members of the other community beat up the Kanwariyas and pelted stones on them, after which eight of them got injured. The police reached the spot and took the injured Kanwariyas to a hospital.”
The attack happened when a Kanwariyas’ procession was passing by a mosque, a group of Muslims demanded to reduce the volume of the music. This led to an exchange of heated argument between the two groups and it soon turned into physical attack against the Kanwariyas.
In the attack, eight Kanwariyas suffered serious injuries and the police arrested three members from the Muslim community.
This serious attack on Kanwariyas failed to get any mainstream media coverage because the car of any elite citizen was not vandalized. For mainstream media, a car of an elite living in the city is more important than the lives of Kanwariyas. This is not an isolate incident time and again Kanwariyas are targeted by anti-Hindu people.
In Farrukhabad, a group of more than 30 Kanwariyas were attacked by motorcycle-borne assailants with iron rods, ‘lathis’ and sharp-edged weapons.
In Hardoi district of UP, members of a ‘particular community’ pelted stones on Kanwariyas. Kanwariyas were also attacked with sticks.
In 2017, 24 Kanwariyas and 6 ITBP and police personnel were injured in stone pelting by some secular mob in Bareilly. The attack happened when the Kanwar Yatra was passing through a Muslim-dominated locality.
Also in the last year, in Lucknow, six people got injured when the members of so-called minority community clashed with Kanwariyas.
In 2017 in Darbhanga, a group of Kanwariyas attacked by some people.
All the aforementioned incidents are the recent one, in the past numerous deadly attacks have been launched against the Kanwar Yatra and Kanwariyas but such incidents have been never given any media coverage. No media channel conducted debate over ensuring the safety and security of Kanwariyas. Lutyens’ media and Leftists-Liberals turned a blind eye to all these incidents. These are the same tribe of people who after every terrorist attack are quick to maintain that terrorists have no religion but they took no time to find out the religion of the goons who indulged in vandalism during Kanwar Yatra.
An ‘attack’ on a member of Tukde-Tukde gang gets more media coverage than deadly attacks against religious pilgrims. Media successfully converted victims into oppressors. It speaks the volume of Media’s bias and their hatred for the Hinduism and its traditions and customs.
