Yogi government has taken action on a school which has been surreptitiously converted into an Islamic institution from a government school. The school is located in Navalpur village of Salempur block in Deoria. The school was renamed as ‘Islamic Primary School’ and it has been also observing the holiday on Friday and remained open on Sunday. All the documents in the schools were maintained in the Urdu language. According to a Jagran report, all this has been going for years under the school’s headmaster Khurshid Ahmad.
DM Sujit Kumar has ordered Basic Sikhsha Adhikari (BSA) Santosh Kumar Pandey to investigate the matter. The DM said, “A report has been sought from the BSA. It is a serious issue since the school was closed on Fridays instead of Sundays without any order or direction.” Block Education Officer, Gyanchand Mishra, said, “When a team visited the school on Friday morning, they found it closed. Islamia Primary School Navalpur was written on the building instead of Primary School Navalpur.”
Gyanchand Mishra immediately called Principal Khurshid Ahmad and took a look at the school documents and what he found that was nothing less than shocking. Mishra found that all the documents were in Urdu and in a school of Deoria district, practices of Saudi Arabia were being followed like holidays on Fridays and working day on Sundays. Records of mid-day meals are also not sent on Friday. The Principal Khurshid Ahmad said that the practice was already there when he joined in 2008 and it was being done because 95% of the pupils of schools were Muslims. All the teaching staff members of the school are also Muslims.
According to the Amar Ujala report, there are four more Islamia schools in the Deoria district, three of which are located in the Rampur Kaarkhaana block while the one in question is in Desai Deoria block. In these government schools also Madarsa pattern and Islamic calendar are followed.
All this has been going for several years, it is very hard to believe that nobody was aware of it and nobody noticed it. For some secular reasons, politician maintained stoic silence and people stayed quiet for some reasons. This is Talibanization in the real sense about which Shashi Tharoor was talking but with a difference. Here, Not the majority community but it’s the minority community which is hell-bent upon converting India into Taliban. All this is a result of years of pseudo-secular and appeasement politics. There many areas of the country which are no less than the Taliban where the so-called minority is in the majority.
It is good to see that Yogi Government is dealing strictly with such radical elements and those who are making a mockery of the rules, regulations and secularism of India. Gyanchandra Mishra has made it very clear that now this tradition will be changed and whosoever will refuse to comply, strict action would be initiated against them. Running a government school like Islamic seminary is against the rule, illegal and unethical. All those who were indulged in such anti-secular practice must be strictly punished to set a precedent for others whoever dares to think to follow such a practice. The Yogi government must also check and confirm that the sanctity of other public institutions has not been eroded like this.
