Controversial left-wing activist Arundhati Roy recently criticised the Narendra Modi-led union government for putting its political opponents behind bars. As per her understanding she believes everyone is living in fear. The names of the opponents she mentioned include fodder scam convict Lalu Prasad Yadav and Naxals who wanted to assassinate PM Modi. As it is said facts are not leftists cup of tea, hence,they don’t let the facts ruin their illusionary world. Lalu Prasad Yadav was convicted by the Indian court of law and all the evidence are against him. As far as the Naxals are concerned they are a threat to the National security. Controversial author Arundhati Roy also said, “Rona Wilson and others were arrested for allegedly conspiring to kill the Prime Minister. Sohrabuddin Sheikh and his wife had also been killed with same allegations earlier. In case the BJP again comes to power again at the centre, it will, with the help of the RSS, declare India as a Hindu nation officially”. She also called Islamic terrorism as the artificial terrorism created by the government. At a time when the whole world is taking measures to protect itself from the Islamic terrorism, self-declared intellectuals like Arundhati Roy terming it as artificial, well this shows the extent to which Leftists like Arundhati Roy are away from the reality. She said, “Since 1947, even a single day is not spared when army was not deployed in various parts of the country against its own people. The government has created artificial terrorism — one Islamic and another anti-development.”
This is not the first time when she is ranting against the Indian army and the Indian state. Earlier also, she had said many things against the country and the Indian army. She is a well-known sympathizer of the Naxals, her soft corner for the Naxalites is no hidden secret. Whatever rant she has made against the BJP and PM Modi is not new, it is very much similar to what Congress claims that there is an undeclared emergency. The term ‘undeclared emergency’ itself is oxymoron and the claim of the Congress is rubbish at all levels. The Congress and the Leftist cabal want to manufacture an illusionary fear in the hearts and the minds of the people against the BJP. Their most favourite term, the so-called ‘undeclared Emergency’. And if they really want to talk about emergency then the Congress party and the leftist cabal should answer these questions- During the 1975 emergency how many people were put behind the bars? How many of them were running here and there for their lives, how many of them were underground? And how many of them were sterilized?
PM Modi is not Indira Gandhi who jailed all her political opponents during the emergency and the leftists supported the imposition of it. As it is rightly said by PM Narendra Modi “Today’s youth do not have an idea of what happened during Emergency. They will not realise how living without freedom can be.”
Arundhati Roy and other notorious leftists have made a career by defaming India. The Zindabad Trust managed by Arundhati Roy has donated funds to website like Alt News which is run by a leftist and a BJP hating person. Intelligence agencies must closely watch the actions of such people. One can never be sure what they can do in order to achieve their nefarious motives.
