Aam Aadmi Party and Arvind Kejriwal’s antics are nothing new to the people of our country There are a few default settings in everyone that clearly sets us apart from the others. We seem to have cracked the code to find the default setting of Aam Aadmi Party workers, and it is so plain and simple that we are indeed ashamed for not identifying it earlier. Honesty is certainly not one of them, considering how dishonest Arvind Kejriwal and his followers are. From framing people in cases and then apologising to them after the damage is done, Kejriwal till date has not remained firm and steady on one thing. His ministers like Satyendra Jain have proved that honesty is not and cannot be the USP of AAP. Hawala donations received by the party are further proof of the failure of AAP’s internal lokpal. Propriety too can be easily ruled out when one remembers the ration card incident or Somnath Bharti’s domestic abuse charges. Leaders like Jitendra Tomar from the party prove that it is not possible for AAP to bring educated and modern people into politics. Internal democracy in the party has taken a massive hit under Arvind Kejriwal, which has led to the exodus of many well-known faces from the party.
AAP started out by asking for donations in exchange of a dinner or lunch date with Kejriwal. Ordinary people of the country and even NRIs who were under the sway of the Jan Lokpal movement did the same. They then resorted to asking for donations for each and every occasion. As if the public were earning their money solely to support AAP and its expenses. The most hilarious incident happened some time back when AAP had sent out an ad stating, “Delhi CM wasn’t invited for Metro Magenta Line inauguration. If you are angry (then) donate.” We don’t know how many people had indeed gotten angry for Kejriwal not getting an invite to the inauguration. What we do know is that many people indeed got angry with AAP over this ad and many others which were being used to pester them. The public bashed AAP and its policies to the utmost extent possible.
But Arvind Kejriwal and AAP just refuse to learn, as the same happened yesterday after they falsely stated that the verdict of the Supreme Court of India in the Delhi Government vs Delhi LG case went in their favour. Emails and random messages on social media greeted people asking them to donate money, apparently because the “people of Delhi have won”. The email also said, “Let us celebrate the big day with a small donation of Rs 100. We all deserve this,” the mail added.
It is difficult for anyone who doesn’t understand the USP of AAP to grasp why the party and its leaders behave in such a fashion. This article might come in handy for all those who are befuddled by the emails and messages flooding their inbox everytime AAP claims that something significant or otherwise has happened. If one thing has remained consistent about this party, it is their constant seeking of donations. Whether the narrative be celebratory, sad, jubilant, or somehow even ‘angry, they expect the ordinary people of Delhi to donate money to the Aam Aadmi Party.
AAP’s default setting is ‘seeking donations’.
