RLSP chief and Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha has snubbed and left the RJD red faced, after he rejected Tejashwi Yadav’s invitation to him to join the mahagathbandhan (grand alliance) in Bihar. The RJD tried to drive away the RLSP from the NDA after Khushwa skipped an NDA meeting in Patna this week . On Sunday RJD invited the BJP ally RLSP to join the grand alliance. Kushwaha’s absence from an NDA meeting in Patna could be the reason behind RJD making such an absurd demand. But it seems that this move by the RJD has backfired badly and has left them embarrassed publicly. Tejashwi had further alleged that the BJP had joined hands with Nitish Kumar in the state in order to sideline and conspire to break alliance with the RLSP. He further added that RLSP has been ignored and neglected in the BJP-led NDA and that the BJP has been treating the RLSP in a step-motherly manner. Tejashwi also tried to create a rift between the RLSP and JD(U) a couple of days back, by describing Kushwaha as a leader with a bigger support base than Nitish Kumar. Even Jitan Ram Manjhi tried to woo Kushwaha into joining the grand alliance.
Despite all attempts by the RJD to create a divide within the NDA fold in Bihar, RLSP has shown a firm resolve of holding steadfastly to the BJP and JD(U) in Bihar. Kushwaha has avowed his loyalty towards the NDA in Bihar and has also exposed how the RJD was trying to create a wedge in the NDA. He reiterated that he will not be quitting the ruling NDA coalition under any circumstances.
Mounting an attack on the RJD, Upendra Kushwaha made it clear that the RJD has lost its base in the state and that such statements have been made only in order to find a base in the state. He asserted that such statements mean nothing to him. Kushwaha then showed great confidence in Prime Minister Modi’s leadership. The RLSP chief stated that it is in interest of the nation that Prime Minister Modi remains in power. Reposing faith in Modi’s leadership, he made it clear that the prime minister will retain power .

The way Kushwaha has reposed faith in prime minister Modi’s leadership and out-rightly rejected the RJD’s invitation to join the RJD-Congress-Hindustan Awam Morcha (secular) alliance, it is clear that the opposition’s plan of forging a grand alliance is not going anywhere. It is all hype without any substance to back it up. On the other hand, NDA allies are holding steadfastly to the alliance and are not going to leave it midway. Prime minister Modi’s leadership is undisputed and inspiring. This is best reflected by the manner in which the RJD invitation was rejected by the RLSP chief. Therefore, it seems that the grand alliance will never be a huge unequivocal anti-BJP bloc that it was projected to be. It will remain a weak, divided entity unsuccessfully trying to woo and bring BJP allies on its side.
