The entire liberal and mainstream media in the United States is up in arms against President Trump’s stringent policy against illegal immigrants. The Trump administration has been following a tough policy against the illegal immigrants trying to enter the American territory along the US-Mexico border. In reality, the Trump administration has been following the law of the land by apprehending illegal immigrants. However, the critics of Donald Trump have been using children as an excuse for maligning the crackdown against illegal immigration.
It is being alleged from several quarters that this tough and ‘to the book’ policy against illegal immigrants has led to separation of undocumented parents from their children. According to the policy pursued by the Trump administration, every illegal immigrant arrested for crossing the border is sent to federal facility. Crossing the border illegally is therefore treated as criminal violation instead of treating it as a civil violation. As per procedure, those arrested for illegal immigration are transferred to the department of justice and are presented before a judge for entering the American territory illegally. Children of the arrested immigrants are sent to the United States department of health and human services, office of refugee resettlement.
It seems that the mainstream media showcases a uniform pattern of advancing the leftist narrative with the aid of deceits and false propaganda. The American mainstream media’s reaction to Trump’s immigration policy reeks of such behaviour. It is a matter of surprise how the sections of American media which are today crying foul over Trump’s “zero tolerance policy” as far as illegal immigrants are concerned had remained mum when the Obama administration was following a similar policy. While President Trump is being blatantly targeted for the tough immigrant policy, it was the Obama administration which had pioneered this policy. United States Attorney General, Jeff Sessions also came down heavily on those who are criticising Donald Trump over the immigrant policy and stated that Obama’s policies are to be partially blamed for it.
It is only after president Trump stormed to power in the United States, that the “liberal” cabal became extremely concerned about humanitarian issues. Those who are aghast how the Trump administration is separating children of illegal immigrants did not utter a word when the policies of the “liberal” presidents were wrecking havoc due to American intervention around the world. Those who are outraged over why president Trump is operating as per the law of the land, were totally uninterested in the past about how the fetish of certain individuals to interfere elsewhere had ruined families and killed innocent children.
When CNN and similar news outlets were constantly endorsing the Obama/ democrat narrative, Syrians were asking why the United States, its allies and other countries were providing support to terror outfits such as Al-Nusra, Al-Qaeda and the ISIS that were active in Syria at that time. These very terror groups were torturing, killing, raping and abducting children, women and men of all ages at that time. However, the “liberal” media was not concerned about even the children who were mercilessly slaughtered due to the misdeeds of Obama administration. It was only the US Representative Tulsi Gabbard who spoke at length after returning from a fact-finding mission to Syria in 2017 about how Syrians were disenchanted about the United States funding terror groups that were unleashing the most inhuman brutalities. In fact, President Obama’s humanitarian concern is a carefully concocted misconception. The reality is in sharp contrast to this fabrication. Drone strikes during Obama’s tenure were far more severe and dangerous when compared to his predecessor. However, the cabal conveniently ignored this bitter reality.
Unnecessary and avoidable outrage surrounding Trump’s immigration policy makes it clear that all principles including human rights and child rights is a matter of compromise for President Trump baiters in the United States. While they don’t care about human rights and illegitimate American interference anywhere in the world if someone like Obama is at the helm of affairs, they launch an all out attack against President Trump even if he is only going by the law of the land. This is an illustration of the most shameful form of political hypocrisy.
