Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who has set new benchmarks in incompetence even by his own standards, has been exposed by Delhi’s IAS association. Kejriwal-led Delhi government has been propagating that the bureaucrats in the national capital are hindering the work of the Kejriwal government and have been staging a strike for the last four months. Kejriwal and his sycophants have been constantly targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi by concocting fictional stories, and have been urging him to end IAS officers’ strike so that Kejriwal can attend the NITI Aayog meeting to be held on Monday. These allegations have been unsubstantiated and baseless.
Now, the Delhi IAS association has come down heavily on Chief Minister Kejriwal and have unequivocally stated that the bureaucrats are not on any strike as alleged by Kejriwal. The falsehoods that the Kejriwal government has been propagating ever since they started the make believe protest at Lt. Governor’s residence have been exposed and now the Delhi chief minister finds himself in a spot of bother.
In a press conference held by the association, IAS officer Manisha Saxena stated that they (IAS officers) are not on strike. She made it clear that the information stating that IAS officers are on strike in Delhi is completely false and baseless. She further added that the IAS officers are attending meetings and all departments are functioning. In fact, sometimes the bureaucrats are also working on holidays. The IAS officers seem to be particularly disturbed with how the AAP and the Kerjwial-led Delhi government have been misbehaving with the civil servants in Delhi.
Raising the issue of how Delhi Chief Secretary had been manhandled by the AAP leaders at Kejriwal’s residence, Saxena stated, “We are very scared after what happened with the chief secretary. This is an issue that concerns not just IAS officers, but every government servant. If the chief secretary attended a meeting at the CM’s residence at midnight, how can this be non-coperation with the government.”
Thus, it is clear that IAS officers are not only disturbed with how the AAP government is politicising the bureaucrats, but are also living in a state of fear due to misbehaviour on part of the AAP leaders. Refuting the allegations that the secretaries have not been taking ministers’ calls in Delhi, she said, “All phone calls from ministers, Speaker, Deputy Speaker and MLAs are being answered.” The officers clarified that they are apolitical and neutral. They further stated that their job is to implement the policies of the government and that they are answerable only to the Constitution and the law. Therefore, it is clear that the IAS officers are being hounded by the Delhi Chief Minister and AAP for political reasons. All their allegations are baseless and unsubstantiated. It is clear that the Delhi government is using falsehoods and deceit in order to create a controversy and scapegoat the IAS officers for its own incompetence.
I would like to inform that we are not on strike. The information that IAS officers in Delhi are on strike is completely false & baseless. We are attending meetings, all depts are doing their works. Varsha Joshi, Delhi Transport Commissioner also came out exposing AAP for its nefarious designs and hideous agenda. In fact, she requested the vested interests to allow the bureaucrats to work. She said “Let us do our work. We are feeling frightened and victimised. We are being used for completely political reasons.” Joshi also made an indirect reference to the AAP and stated, “I have been targeted by social media handles of a certain political party in an unfair manner. The way we have been forced to do certain jobs is not right”. It is a serious allegation and hints at gross misuse of political power by the AAP.

It is the IAS association that should have cried foul in the first place instead of Kejriwal and his fellow ministers. The fact remains that IAS officers have to function in an atmosphere of fear and political vendetta under the Kejriwal government. A senior IAS officer was first manhandled by AAP leaders at the chief minister’s residence, and now Kejriwal is unnecessarily dragging the bureaucrats into a political controversy. Kejriwal must understand that he can longer hide his incompetence. He must finally learn to own up to his incompetence instead of scapegoating others for his own fallacies.
