If we look into the medieval history of India, Tipu Sultan comes out as a controversial ruler .There are many clashing records of him ransacking temples at different period. Modern day Karnataka is the place where Tipu Sultan’s kingdom in the olden days thrived. It was the epicenter of death and destruction for kaffirs in the south. After conquering a land, his cruelty against the Christians and Hindus had no bounds. Several thousand Hindus and Christians were forcibly killed and converted into Islam under Sultan’s order. This fact is forgotten by the Congress and its allies who tried to celebrate and organised Tipu Sultan Jayanti in Karnataka on the occasion of his birth. Siddaramaiah led Congress in Karnataka has made sure to stoop to any level in order to appease the minorities.
The Congress leadership have finally found the only other government who is willing to remember Tipu Sultan on his death anniversary, is none other than the Pakistan government. Pakistan government took to twitter to remember Tipu Sultan on his death anniversary.

Pakistan government remembering Tipu Sultan, who is from southern Mysore, a person they do not have any cultural ties with is quite surprising. There is only one connection with Tipu which the Pakistan administration can claim and that is of religion. The religious persecutions, carried out by Tipu Sultan, possibly gives a sense of pride to the Pakistan government and others who look to please people belonging to a certain religion. Siddaramaiah and the Congress leaders’ decision to celebrate and glorify Tipu’s rule could be clubbed with the decision of the Pakistani administration as well.
Some historians have also pointed out towards the grants Tipu Sultan gave to temples in his kingdom in Mysore. These historians forget that he destroyed at least 100 times more temples and churches than he endowed. The grants and gifts given to temples in Mysore were more political than secular in nature. In order to keep his Hindu ministers and subjects satisfied, Tipu indulged in external displays of patronage towards religious institutions of other religions. He was indeed nothing more than a bigot as it is proved by many mentions of successful conversions done or mentions to the killings of Kaffirs in many historical documents. Even the French, who were allies of Tipu during his struggles against the British rule, were speechless at the ease with which non-Muslim killings were carried out by Tipu Sultan and his army.
While mentioning Tipu Sultan as an able administrator and a warrior the Pakistani government just like Siddaramaiah’s in Karnataka, forgot to mention the brutality of Tipu Sultan. His bigotry did not find any mention in the Pakistan’s government which is understandable but the surprising thing is even Siddaramaiah failed to remember this. One wonders was all of this was just a ploy to attract voters from a particular religion. The mass tortures on Lingayats, other Hindu sects and Christians who had to flee or convert to Islam in order to save themselves from the wrath of Tipu Sultan, have been lost on the ears of vote bank politics of the Congress. The cries of the Kodava and catholic groups who had joined the BJP and RSS in protests against the Tipu Sultan Jayanti also went unheard. The Congress and Siddaramaiah seem to have an agenda to win the elections at any cost. From praising a bigot like Tipu to raising many in their fold, the Congress never learns.
