To begin with, the presidency is a constitutional post. Believe it or not, once you become a governor or a president, thereafter your political masters stop controlling your lives and making decisions for you. You might not have treated constitutional posts that way, but that’s how it works. You hypocrites had no problem when Ex- Vice President of the country attended the function of a radical Islamist terrorist organization-PFI.  But your stomachs are turning on Ex-President Pranab Mukherjee’s involvement in an event of socio-cultural and patriotic organization- RSS.

Now let us talk about the RSS, an organization whose function Mahatma Gandhi attended and which was invited by Jawaharlal Nehru for the Republic Day celebrations in 1963. First woman Prime Minister of the country, Indira Gandhi attended RSS event in 1977. Other prestigious personalities who have attended functions and programs organized by RSS includes Swami Chinmayananda, Lokmanya Jayaprakash Narayan, Justice KT Thomas and famous scientists like G Madhavan Nair, K Radhakrishnan, Kasturirangan. In fact, Pranab Mukherjee is not first president to attend an RSS event, former president Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam in 2014, had also visited the RSS headquarters at Reshimbagh, Nagpur and paid floral tributes to the first Sarsanghchalak Dr KB Hedgewar at Smriti Bhavan.

RSS is working for the development and welfare of the country day and night. One of the greatest initiatives of RSS is that it runs 27,000 Ekal Vidyalayas in remote tribal areas where more than 8 lakh socially and economically deprived tribal students are enrolled. RSS has played a big role in nation building. RSS volunteers are always ready to sacrifice their lives whenever the country needs. During the partition RSS, helped in organizing relief camps for the refugees. During 1965 war, RSS volunteers helped in maintaining law and order, they also donated blood. Whenever country faced any natural disaster or calamity be it Tamil Nadu Tsunami, Gujarat earth quake, Bhopal Gas tragedy, Utrrakhand floods, Chennai floods, Hudhud cyclone, Assam floods etc, RSS volunteers were always there to help the people. RSS infact joined many rescue and relief operations. RSS had also helped the victims of Nepal earthquake.

Since its inception RSS has given its selfless service to the nation. RSS actively participated in liberation war of Goa and Dadra Nagar Haveli. RSS protected the Sikhs during the anti-Sikh riots in 1984. Khushwant Singh also acknowledged this fact, stating, “There were few people left to share their pain. It must be acknowledged that some leaders of the Sangh parivar and the RSS, including A.B.Vajpayee, went out of their way to help the Sikhs.” General Cariappa also appreciated the work of Sangh in nation building, “RSS work is my heart’s work. Dr. Hedgewar, revered founder of this great organization, has set before you a bright example of selfless devotion to the service of motherland. Look ahead! Go ahead! This country is standing in need of your services alone.”

Today India’s top three constitutional posts President,Vice-President and Prime Minister- all are occupied by the proud Swayamsevak of RSS.

Now, let’s compare the immense contributions of the Sangh to your leaders. Your leaders go to a country that butchers our soldiers and spew venom against India, but that country doesn’t become untouchable. In fact, it’s your favourite country and playing Aman ki Asha with that country is your favourite hobby. A former PM clandestinely meets our enemy’s representatives, but they are not untouchable. The Gandhis dine with the Chinese envoys secretly at a time when Doklam is taking place, the Chinese are not untouchable. But the Sangh becomes untouchable.

And as for the communists who opposed this decision, frankly ever since the country got EVMs, nobody has cared about what you say and what you do. In any case, we don’t need sermons from those who have betrayed the country on every step of the way. You betrayed the country on each and every step be it quit India movement, Bengal genocide, partition, 1962 China war etc. Naxal movement supported by you caused immense damage to the country. Today naxalites are the biggest security threat to the country. Your history is full of lies, betrayal and treachery. You only want to break the country into many pieces and it is clearly evident by the slogans of calling the destruction of the country raised by followers of your ideology. You communists flirt with radical Islamist elements and work against the nation, on the other hand, Sangh has always stood for the unity and integrity of this great nation. Ex-President Pranab Mukherjee attending RSS event shows the reach and acceptance of the Sangh is across the party line. Additionally, Pranab Mukherjee’s participation with the Sangh’s event shows his maturity and need for dialogue across the ideological spectrum, something you would never understand. Your constant whining and grandstanding have only added to RSS’ rising popularity and it will continue to do so. I know it is not in your nature to accept defeat, after all the ‘moral victory’ is always yours, even when you are completely crushed but you should probably start trying. It’s a long road ahead towards self-realization and self-awareness so might as well start early, it’s already quite late for you.

Yours Truly,

A Proud Sanghi.
