UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi accompanied by Rahul Gandhi, left for the States yesterday for a medical checkup. Rahul Gandhi tweeted, “Will be out of India for a few days, accompanying Sonia ji to her annual medical checkup. To my friends in the BJP social media troll army: don’t get too worked up…I’ll be back soon! (sic)”.

These are personal issues which one should not get into but then there are many people who are questioning the Congress Party’s legacy in providing healthcare and why she has to fly out of the country for a good treatment. Why till now the Congress party did not built even a single world-class hospital in India where Sonia Gandhi could be treated? Although the Congress Party’s legacy in healthcare can be discussed separately but for now we cannot ignore that Mr. Rahul Gandhi has left the portfolio allotment of Karnataka midway. Infact recently Rahul Gandhi tweeted an article about how the finance ministry was left rudderless when Finance Minister Arun Jaitley was admitted to hospital. Whereas now Mr.Gandhi has left every ministry in Karnataka rudderless.

Well now the people of Karnataka have to wait for the return of Rahul Gandhi as he accompanied his mother to the States, leaving Karnataka hanging.This is rather unfortunate, as it is clear that the people of Karnataka are at the mercy of the Congress. But the question which arises is are they so authoritarian or insecure that they could not find even one person in the entire party to complete the process in their absence?
Recently on the 54th death anniversary for the former Congress Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, Kumaraswamy while speaking to reporters said, “mine is not an independent government. I had requested the people to give me a mandate that prevents me from succumbing to any pressure other than you. But today I am at the mercy of the Congress. I am not under the pressure of the 6.5 crore people of the state.”

This statement was a huge insult to the voters . He made it very clear that no decision would be taken without the influence of the Congress. As it is said ‘if you want to test the character of a man, give him power’. Today with power in his hands HD Kumaraswamy has shown his true character to the people of this country and it can be clearly visible that he is only concerned about the CM seat and not about the people who gave his party 37 seats. What they have called ‘victory of democracy’ is now turning out be ‘murder of mandate’ as Kumaraswamy has made it very clear that he represents the Congress party and not the people and their mandate. It seems all speeches regarding Kannada pride were just hollow rhetorics for the election rallies. Right now it is clear that Kumaraswamy and the local Congress leadership of Karnataka have submitted their Kannada pride, sovereignty and peoples’ mandate at the feet of the Indian National Congress.
