In yet another political victory for Prime Minister Modi, one of the irritants, former Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha has resigned from the BJP. While speaking at an event in Patna, Sinha stated that he is taking sanyas from party politics and will be ending all ties with the BJP. Sinha appeared dejected and stated that he has dissociated himself from party politics while sharing dias with Congress leader Renuka Choudhary. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav was also present at the event. It seems Sinha is sporting political neutrality but circumstances point towards something else. Along with this, he resorted to baseless rhetoric about the NDA government undermining democratic institutions in the country and also blamed the NDA for ruckus in the Parliament. He has been blaming the BJP for parliament impasse at a time when the Congress and other opposition parties have been bluntly stalling parliamentary proceedings!
Yashwant Sinha has been acting like a sore loser and an attention-seeker for quite long now. He had even formed a ‘Rashtra manch’ on 30th January this year. He claimed that this forum will be free from party politics and will only aim to highlight the faulty policies pursued by the Centre. However, several Congress leaders and other prominent opposition leaders joined the inauguration event of the “apolitical forum” with great enthusiasm. In fact, this forum which was projected as a bona fide public platform was also joined by TMC MP Dinesh Trivedi. Yashwant Sinha has indeed set a great benchmark in political neutrality by inviting and joining hands with opposition politicians! This shows that Yashwant Sinha has been impersonating as a neutral political observer but harbours selfish political aspirations in reality.
The fact that he was no longer potent for active politics led him to becoming an attention-seeker constantly launching attacks on Prime Minister Modi. Nonetheless, Prime Minister Modi and BJP Chief Amit Shah chose to ignore him. While Yashwant Sinha kept on making veiled attacks on the BJP, the leading duo further infuriated the now former BJP politician by paying him no heed. There were no hints of any disciplinary proceedings against him. The result was that Yashwant Sinha who was hungry for public sympathy was unable to play the victim card. He became a source of derision for cribbing against the BJP even though no objectionable action or even justifiable action was taken against him. By trying to take support from opposition leaders and joining hands with the enemies of the BJP he has done himself great harm. No one sympathises with him for being a victim but he is publicly hated for being an opportunistic traitor.
… So I fired myself. https://t.co/SkK5ZkwY4z

The BJP forced Yashwant Sinha into an awkward situation where the only way out was to resign. He was not able to provoke Amit Shah and Prime Minister Modi. Finally, he gave up, hung his boots and also ended up revealing his political ambitions. Even after he has resigned, he has tried blaming Prime Minister Modi in a bizarre manner stating that the Prime Minister did not fire him because he was scared (thus, Sinha had to resign for playing the victim card). The opposition and some enemies from within have been forever provoking Prime Minister Modi to speak up on petty political issues and make an error. But Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah are seasoned politicians, and they are beating their enemies at their own game and cornering them by ignoring them, and as in Yashwant Sinha’s case, leaving them no choice but to resign.
