Karnataka goes to poll next month and with merely a few weeks remaining till the elections, Karnataka is heating up with political adventurism and rhetoric. The incumbent Congress government led by Siddaramaiah is feeling less confident about their chances of retaining Karnataka with each passing day, even the opinion polls by many leading news outlets like India Times and ABP suggest that BJP has made substantial inroads in Karnataka.
Amidst all these political discourse, a very telling poster has come up outside houses in Bantwal, coastal Karnataka. The posters which admonished Congress leaders to stay away were found in Kanyana village. The message on these posters read –
“This is a Hindu house. Congress leaders who supported the conversion of Ganyashri through lies are not allowed here.”
The context of these posters refers to another anti-Hindu act committed by the incumbent Siddaramaiah government in Karnataka. The villagers suspect that the local village girl, Ganyashri, was converted by deceit and local Congress leaders aided in this whole process as a result of which the girl eloped and her family faced embarrassment.
These posters tell a story of exploitation in Karnataka. This is not the first time Siddaramaiah government has been accused of propagating anti-Hindu directives. If we look back there are a number of such incidents where Hindus have been made the sacrificial lamb in a tribute to the goddess of appeasement. Some of these remarkably lopsided views of governance by the Congress government are stated below.
The death of D.S. Kutappa and apathy of Siddaramaiah –
Siddaramaiah, who considers Tipu sultan as a patriot despite the recorded history of Tipu’s barbarism and genocidal tendencies, called for a celebration of Tipu Jayanti and subsequently sent letters to all district administrations stating that they follow suit. The letter explicitly prohibited any street procession and stated that arrangements for this celebration should be made indoors.
The organizing secretary of Viswa Hindu Parishad, D.S. Kuttapa, staged a protest against such glorification of a man who has killed millions of Kodavas. He was brutally hacked to death by “unknown assailants”. This was a result of miscreants from a group supporting Tipu sultan wielding machetes and sword, provoking the gathered protesters of whom DS Kuttapa was a part of. A wide spread unrest ensued after the killing where more than 20 houses and equal number of shops were vandalized.
The CM, without even taking cognizance of the nature of the crime and the police report, went ahead and gave a free hand to the attackers by stating Kuttapa died due to falling from a building while he was running away from the police lathi charge.
This onslaught on workers of Hindu organization did not stop with Kuttapa. It went on as CM looked the other way.
A humble flower seller and the negligible value of a Hindu life –
In another heart wrenching incident which exposes Siddaramaiah’s anti-Hindu agenda, a 29-year-old humble flower seller Prashant Pujari was hacked to death by bike borne assailants in front of his father with whom he ran their family owned business in Moohbidi, Karnataka.
Prashant was a member of “Bajrang Dal” and it seems that is what cost him his life. Prashant was actively involved in preventing smuggling and illegal slaughter of cows in the region. The VHP district president Jagadish Shenava, during a press meet, stated the abysmal state of law and order and the existing nexus of SDPI goons and Congress government and how these goons enjoy state patronage.
No compensation was given to the bereaved family, no national paper carried the story and as alleged by the VHP district president, the attackers got away scot-free.
A temple can fund Madrasas, not Hindu Schools –
Even Hindu schools faced humiliation under the current government which took every available opportunity to denigrate Hindus and their institutions. The Mookambika Temple of Kullur funds many schools, among them two schools namely – Sri Rama Vidya Kendra in Kalladka and Sri Devi Vidya Kendra in Punacha received a grant of 2.83 crores from the temple.
These two schools are run by Sri Rama Vidyakendra trust. An RSS activist, Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat leads the trust. The formalization of such grants was done when the BJP-JD government was in power but on July 31st, 2017 the Congress government issued an order excluding these two schools from the list. The grants which were meant for uniforms, midday meals and books suddenly stopped. With a large section of the students coming from backward and Dalit section of the society and their only stable meal of the day coming from the school, around 4000 students were affected. The government stated Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Act (HRICEA) and its clauses for this draconian decision which forced children towards starvation. They claimed that a Muzrai Temple can’t give donations to a private institution. A Muzrai temple is a Hindu temple which comes under this act, whereas every aspect of it is dictated by the state. Just to state the extent of this vicious agenda, in 2002 the Karnataka government raised around 72 crores from the Temples and only 10 crores were returned to the Temples, the rest was used for other purposes including 50 crores worth of financial help to Madrasas. Which means it’s perfectly fine to deprive Hindu children of food but the financial needs of Madrasas will always take primacy over Hindu children going hungry.
These are a short number of accounts of humiliation and depravity faced by Hindus under the anti-Hindu Siddaramaiah government. The recent posters indicate that Hindus in Karnataka have had enough and they are angry. The BJP should channelize this anger and deliver a humiliating defeat to the anti-Hindu Congress.
