External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj addressed the UN General Assembly (UNGA) in her copybook aggressive style and in chaste Hindi. She said that terrorism is spreading like a wildfire in the world, large number of people are now fleeing from different parts of the world because of Terrorism. While cornering Pakistan on Terrorism, She made it a point to refer to the steps taken by the Government of India to deal with poverty, to present the stark difference between the two nations and drive her point home beautifully. Sushma Swaraj outlined the Jan dhana Yojana, Mudra Yojana and Ujjwala Yojna. Sushma Swaraj said that India opened zero balance accounts of 300 million people. This Number of Jan Dhana Beneficiaries is equivalent to the population of the United States. Sushma Swaraj cited the Mudra Yojna while outlining India’s efforts for eradicating poverty. Sushma said that under this scheme, the government helps to provide employment to the youth who face an acute shortage of capital. Referring to Ujjwala scheme, Sushma said that through this scheme, LPG connections were given to women free of cost.
In her address at the UNGA, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said that we are fighting poverty while our neighbouring Pakistan is fighting us. Sushma said that Pakistan has surpassed the limits of depravity.
The External Affairs Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his hand of friendship but it was rejected by Pakistan. Sushma Swaraj that Pakistan has no ground to talk about Humanity.
She further added that Pakistan created networks like LeT and Haqqani. Hence the nations that grow terrorists and shelter terrorism, shouldn’t teach us the lessons of humanity to the world.
Here are some of her strongest quotes:
- Pakistan’s Jehadi kill innocent civilians
- Pakistan has created terrorist camps
- Pakistan funds terrorists
- PM Modi extended hand of friendship towards Pakistan
- UNSC Failed in talking in Unison as far as terrorism is concerned
- We need to fight with terrorism together
- We need to zero down on the definition of terror.
- Pakistan produces terrorists and India Produces scientists
In 2016 too Sushma Swaraj had launched a blistering attack on Pakistan after Eenam Gambhir, first secretary with India’s permanent mission to the UN fired the first shots at Pakistan. Nawaz Sharif had lionized slain Hizb Commander Burhan Wani at the UNGA which was met with blistering counter response from Eenam Gambhir. Sushma Swaraj lashed the Pakistanis after that.
Yesterday, Eenam Gambhir, replied to the Pakistani Prime Minister’s Speech for the second consecutive year. In response to the current Pakistani PM Shahid Khakan Abbasi’s speech, Eenam branded Pakistan as Terroristan. Earlier in 2016, in the UN General Assembly (UNGA), Eenam had called Pakistan a terrorist country in response to Nawaz Sharif’s speech. Both times Eenam responded to Pakistan under “Right to reply” in UNGA.
It was being believed that by calling Pakistan Terroristan at the UNGA, Eenam had once again set the stage for Sushma Swaraj to pin Pakistan to submission. And the inevitable happened again.
