Dawood Ibrahim, the notorious underworld kingpin who unofficially rules over all the illegal businesses in the business capital of India, is living a king’s life in Pakistan. Living inside a cosy palace in Karachi, he controls most of the illegal and terror affairs in Mumbai, spreading from the dark, stinking slimy alleys to the costliest suites in the Luxury hotels. The mastermind of the 1993 Mumbai Blasts laughs on the so-called long hands of the Indian Judiciary and the Law and Enforcement System, which our Bollywood movies of 80s and 90s boasted about. Pakistan, which is the workshop of international terrorism, is the Jannat for Dawood Ibrahim where the Indian Law and Enforcement System cannot enter.
But there is a good news amid the not-so-good ones.
Iqbal Kaskar, brother of the Underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, has been arrested in a case of extortion. Iqbal Kaskar has been arrested by the Thane Crime Branch. There are allegations of threatening businessmen with the intention of extorting Money.
According to the available information, some members of Iqbal Kaskar gang had demanded a ransom by threatening a businessman on a phone call. A case was registered on the basis of the businessman’s complaint. According to information from available sources, he was arrested by Encounter Specialist Pradeep Sharma.
It is worth mentioning that Dawood’s brother Iqbal Kaskar was extradited from Dubai in 2003. After his return, he was prosecuted in the Sahara case but was acquitted due to lack of evidence. However, Iqbal Kaskar is currently under trial in many more cases of forced recovery of money, Extortion and bullying
While the Younger brother is being given a taste of Police’s Hospitality, Indian agencies are constantly strangulating Dawood Ibrahim. Recently, many of his UK-based properties were seized. Apart from this, a list of different names and locations of Dawood were also released. UK government has seized properties belonging to Dawood Ibrahim. The assets which have been frozen include the his properties in Midlands.
The Birmingham Mail reported that Dawood owns a hotel in Warwickshire and other residential properties across the Midlands.
Recently, the outgoing Home Secretary (and the new CAG) Mr. Rajiv Mehrishi gave a statement that Dawood Ibrahim is in Pakistan and that the government of the country is creating hurdles in getting him back to India, which is against the International Law.
Although the Pakistani authorities strongly deny that Dawood is not in Pakistan, their claim is as false as Red Herring. Dawood Ibrahim is the most wanted criminal in India, but a hero and a respectable man in Pakistan. Otherwise, the former Pakistani legendary cricketer Javed Miandad, whom the Pakistani citizens consider a nationalist person, would not have agreed to his son’s marriage with Dawood’s eldest daughter Mahrukh. Just think- how many Indians would agree to marry off their children with the children of Boko Hatam militants, even though Boko Haram is not involved in any terrorist activity in India?
Anyway, looks like Indian Agencies have started the much awaited crackdown on the Dawood Family. While the arrest of Dawood looks like a distant dream, but this is a world full of impossibilities. So staying Hopeful isn’t a bad thing to do. But for now The Arrest of Iqbal Kaskar must not be taken as a small development. It is a big thing.
