One of the major focuses of Modi regime has been Indian railway, its development and the use of technology in achieving same. Induction of Mr Suresh Prabhu in the cabinet and his working style speaks a volume for the clear intentions and priorities of the government.
However, the back to back events of rail derailment have alarmed the agencies.
It has also posed a question on internal security measures of rail and otherwise. The frequency of these incidences has prompted Indian agencies to monitor and investigate the external links in these attempts against the sovereignty of India. Be it the case of tragedy in Bihar’s Ghorasahan or Pukhrayan in Uttar Pradesh, derailment of Indore-Patna express or Hirakhand express in Odisha, mass deaths has been reported! What is interesting to note in all these events is the coherent point of origin.
A reason why I am attempting to divert your attention on these cases are the unusual occurrences and a similar pattern followed which points at the involvement of a third party. It takes no rocket science to understand that this third party is none other than our ‘kind’ neighbour Pakistan. In this new proxy war against India, ISI is executing such coward acts to cause large-scale deaths in India by ‘engineering stampedes, derailment, riots or attacking Government installations’.
As a part of this plan, ISI has been funding and training the terrorists on a purpose. This claim has been bared by the arrested Nepalese citizen Shamshu Huda. Huda was offered due support to achieve the goal set by ISI to derail the Indian rails in different locations. It can also be seen as ISI’s desperation to expand in parts other than Jammu and Kashmir.
The arrest of Huda has also unveiled Pak’s strategy to approach local ‘Hindu’ criminals to give a face to existing body of a wide network and in return, they are paid huge.
Huda, who was in direct touch of an ISI handler based in Pakistan via Dubai, confirmed ‘hiring’ two Hindu individuals who later developed cold feet in regard to the plan. As a consequence of which, IED was discovered and the plan went in vain. This act of betrayal by the two boys led to their elimination from ISI and ultimately, they were made to romance with death.
The NIA has said in a report that the traces of alliance between Huda and ISI handler Saifi Shah are found from back in 2013-2014. It was this trust in him that made Shah appoints him to persuade Nepalese youth to come to terms with ISI plotters. In this series, the next target was to appoint the local Hindu criminals to bring the acts into practice. It has to be noted that this was the first time when the locals were approached and involved. Before this, the use of Hindu symbols was observed promptly in 26/11 Mumbai attacks yet the involvement of any ‘insider’ was not traced. This time, the tables have turned!
What has to be acknowledged and appreciated in this entire case is the pace at which Indian authorities worked. On a hand, concerned officials were suspended immediately after the Indore-Patna derailment which left 145 dead and inquiry was established. While on the other, the Dubai authorities were pushed to transfer Huda to Nepal and on reaching Nepal, he was arrested and handed over to India without much fuss.
At the same time, the high possibility of similar attacks in near future cannot be neglected. Our system must keep a hawk eye at the next game plan of malicious ISI. While the current focus is on Kanpur rail tragedy, the involvement of the neighbouring terrorist state in more such previous activities cannot be denied.
It is the high time when we need to nail the Pakistani hand in the internal affairs of India and Indian people.
