Stunned by the complete disregard of this incident by the mainstream media? This “news” is conspicuously missing from all leading news channels or print media. News Traders in India are more interested in covering the plight of Akhlaq in Dadri, Najeeb in JNU etc, but when it comes to covering the riots in Malda or exodus of Hindus in Kairana, they prefer to maintain the “secular” fabric of the country.
In a nutshell though India continues to be constitutionally secular , socially and politically it has become a Hindu bashing nation. Latest example being Maulana Dehlavi openly insulting Lord Shri Ram and Devi Sita on an AAJ TAK debate moderated by Punya Prasoon Vajpayee.
The programme on AAJ TAK started with a discussion on which party gave what number of tickets to Muslim candidates for ongoing Uttar-Pradesh 2017 assembly election. Soon it escalated to a discussion on the burning issue of “Triple Talaq”. Maulana Dehlavi , out of his patriarchal ego , could not bear the mention of Muslim Women’s Rights.
Maulana Dehlavi got so enraged that he passed derogatory remarks on Devi Sita. He went to say, ” Modi left Jashodaben , Ram left Sita in this country and you are lecturing us on Triple Talaq “.
Sambit Patra, BJP spokesperson & Prof. Rakesh Sinha, Director – India Policy Foundation retaliated immediately and demanded an unconditional apology. Even the crowd started supporting Sambit Patra and demanded apology from Maulana Dehlavi . Meanwhile, panelist from Congress and moderator Punya Prasoon Vajpayee ( who was once caught in a leaked tape supporting Arvind Kejriwal’s agenda ) chose to remain quiet . No other panelist cared to remind Maulana Dehlavi to be in his limits.

Maulana Syed Athar Hussain Dehlavi is the chairperson of an Islamic organization , Anjuman- e – Rasool . His organization claims to work for peace, secularism and amity among all religions. But , hypocritically , it’s chairperson Mr. Dehlavi is yet to apologize for the mockery he tried making about Lord Shri Ram.
Let’s go back a little in time. Remember Kamlesh Tiwari ? The man who was in no time put inside jail for mocking Prophet Mohammed. Remember Aashu Parihaar ? The girl who received innumerable threats of rape and murder for her remarks on Prophet Mohammed again. Are you aware that not even a single of those , who threatened to kill her , is arrested ? Let alone arrest , not even a single chargesheet is filed against them. And here is a man , who on a “live TV debate” openly insulted Shri Ram & Devi Sita and we are still waiting for an action to be taken against him. #ArrestMaulanaDehlavi trended on Twitter for many hours but that was the best what we were capable of.
Now imagine the plight of Sambit Patra, had he made such a derogatory remark on any of the “Nabi”. Anti minority debates would have sky rocketed and we would have been witnessing “FATWAS” putting bounty on Sambit Patra’s head.
My fellow citizens, when Akhlaq was killed entire India was declared intolerant by whole intellectual fraternity and Bollywood brigade. But I am yet to witness a single “secular” intellectual voice from Award Wapsi fraternity to condemn Maulana’s shameful act.
I ask why ? Why this man is still not punished like Kamlesh Tiwari was? Why is he still roaming scot free determined to not pay even a single word of apology? Where does he get the courage from to insult Hindus in a Hindu majority nation? Why there is a difference in treatment for Aashu Parihaar and a patriarchy obsessed Maulana? The answer lies in a simple statement ; politically and socially, India is no more a secular nation.
