Azam Khan and controversies are no new phenomenon in India. In fact, with the ongoing elections in Uttar Pradesh, one wonders as to why he has given a statement so late. His recent statement was “Muslims breed more because they are unemployed and have a lot of free time to themselves” He further took a jibe on Modi saying “If the Baadshah of India(Narendra Modi) had thought about giving employment to Muslims, they would not have produced so many kids”. Khan upped his speech saying that Hindus have learned to produce more kids from Muslims while receiving whistles and claps from the audience.
This is not the first time Azam Khan made such controversial statements, any logical mind would concur that this is an absurd statement but this clearly doesn’t matter to his voter base who were seen laughing and clapping while his speech was going on. Before digging further into his latest statement let’s take a look at some of his past statements.
1.Calling Modi a Dog: -During Lok sabha election campaign in 2014 when Rajnath Singh apologised to Muslims for any mistake that the BJP may have committed. He appealed to the gallery and said that they don’t want any apologies from the Brother of a Dog’s son.
2.Comments on Kargil War:-During the same time while addressing an election rally in Ghaziabad he made a controversial comment that “The peaks of Kargil was not occupied by any Hindu soldier, but it was the Muslim soldiers who did the job” sparking an immediate protest from BJP on creating a divide in the army among religious lines. Election commission took hardly any action on the case after demanding the tape for the speech.
3.Justifying terrorist attacks in Paris: -Azam Khan justified the Paris attacks on November 2015 where 129 people were killed by saying it was the retaliation of the Western attacks on Oil-producing Arab countries and this backlash was bound to happen in the West. When the world was mourning the innocent lives lost, he was sympathizing with the terrorists.
4.Terming RSS volunteers as Homosexuals: -Azam Khan termed RSS cadres as homosexuals when he was told that Arun Jaitley wants the 2014 judgement on gay sex to be ‘reconsidered’. He commented that RSS volunteers did not marry due to this reason.
5.Terming the rape of a minor girl as a Political conspiracy: -Last year Khan termed the gang-rape of a minor girl and her mother in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh a conspiracy hatched by opposition to defame his party’s name.
- Kashmir not part of India: -In 2010 while addressing Ghulam Nabi Azad he told that Azad did not belong to India, but Kashmir as the state being a part of India is a matter of dispute.
If you take a look at Azam Khan’s statements, you will clearly understand he is a slimy Anti-national who wants to break the country. He openly terms Bharat Mata as “Dayan who sucks the blood of Muslims”. And the scariest part is the fact that he is the most popular leader for Muslims in the state and second only to the Yadav family in Samajwadi Party.
While his latest speech is being downplayed by the mainstream media as just another absurd statement, let’s not forget the fact, that all his past statements never resulted in any punishment for him either from the Election commission, Samajwadi Party or courts. But his poisonous words affect more than 4 crore Muslims in the state.
By blaming Muslim Unemployment problem on Modi Azam Khan wants to create a riot like situation similar to the Patel agitation and the Jat reservation agitation which saw hundreds of injured youth with crores of Government and private properties destroyed.
With jobs on the slower side especially after the initial phase of demonetization, Azam Khan is attempting to create a deadly mix of religion with unemployment which will create riots unimaginable to the common populace. The election commission should quickly take a note of the event and follow up with subsequent action on this Anti National.
