To,
Honourable Supreme court,
Republic of India.
I’ve immense respect for the judicial system of our country. It is sincerely working to solve the disputes in an unbiased, fact-based way. Furthermore, it also controls the wilfulness and wrongdoings of the elected government. There are several examples where you have showed whip of law to the wealthy insubordinates like Sahara. Indian judiciary have proved to be a healthy pillar of the democracy.
Supreme Court is the best example of balancing emotions and justice with logic.
I’m also one of those who seek justice from you. My father worked in a private school (100% government aided) for last 20 years and then he was sacked because he did not campaign for a renowned educationist in elections. He tried every other way, even begging before that renowned educationist and other public representatives but as no one helped him to get out of this crisis
He approached the court as the last resort. The case was registered in Latur School tribune. He paid a whopping Rs. 50,000 to lawyer and waited for the justice to be served. Educationist started pressurising my father and bribing our lawyer to delay the case. Somehow district court passed the verdict in our favour and ordered the institute to get my father back to his rightful job with full reimbursement of the salary.
But the institute appealed in the high court where case took another 2 years and court ordered institute to re investigate the matter in 2 months and pay half of the sum of his salary. Institute took 6 months to reinvestigate the case and it didn’t pay a single penny to my father, which was a clear contempt of the court. Result of the reinvestigation was again the same. My father remains suspended. Case was tossed back in district court, my father gained nothing from the vexation of 3 years and case came back to where it was started.
Again, in the district court he is struggling to get the date of the honourable justice from last 2 years. My father still has hope to fight with that impertinent educationist through judicial way even though he is deprived of his rightful earnings for last 5 years. He doesn’t even know how many years it’s going to take from here. He doesn’t money from last 5 years. He can’t raise his children the way he wished. He’s not able to get his daughter married as he is short of money.
But he believes in court and judicial system. He believes that someday he will get justice.
The whole ado was to let you know that we Indians believe in the judiciary and the administration (though we get disappointed most of the times). We can easily withstand the troubles caused by demonetization for next 50 days. We believe that the change due to demonetization will need some time (less than what it takes to get justice in court). If the nation is on the right path we will do everything to stand by it. There are millions of innocent people like my father who are waiting for justice, but the court is busy wasting time on cases of the elite or the ones which do not even require their attention.
So comments like Demonetization can cause riots” do not appear very elegant especially when it comes from Supreme Court, the highest guard of of law in the country. And people can’t even criticize fearing a possible contempt of court notice.
(This is not because SC slammed Modi Ji. Everyone stood by court in Uttarakhand president rule verdict which was a blow to the BJP. No one questioned court then.)
Yours truly,
A Law Abiding Citizen
