Friends, enemies, and even the common man kept on asking Prime Minister Narendra Modi about his plans to deal with black money. He was kind of silent on this issue during the last two years, perhaps, giving inputs to his team which worked on the plan that has even managed to surprise someone as sly as a fox (I mean P. Chidambaram). No doubt, demonetization is a huge, courageous, and bold move that has a potential to backfire.
After spending several years as the state’s chief minister, Prime Minister Modi definitely knows that the procedure would take several months of planning. He probably preferred to remain on ‘observation without interference mode’ until November 8.
As per the article published by the Economic Times, 82 percent of the people approached by research firm IPSOS and Inshorts during their survey suggested that they are happy with demonetization drive. World Bank, the Supreme Court and activists, including Anna Hazare, have shown their support for government’s move to eradicate corruption.
Leaders from well-known ‘corrupt’ parties, builders, traders, libtards, and even some friends like Uddhav Thackeray are acting like kites dancing in a hurricane because of this move that has converted black money into pieces of waste paper.
Made new fan followers since his Goa speech
There is no doubt that Prime Minister has a huge fan following. With government’s recent step to curb black money, Modi has attracted even those who do not take interest in politics after voting in elections.
PM Modi’s speeches manage to attract millions of viewers on YouTube. But his power-packed speech made after laying the foundation stone of Goa’s Mopa Greenfield Airport deserves a special place in country’s political science books.
Prime Minister apologized for the inconvenience that the common man has to go through and made an emotional appeal to support his drive by giving him 50 days in order to deal with the ongoing issue. He also assured the public that his drive against the corrupt will continue hereafter.
Certain points from his speech suggest that those with benami properties might prove to be the next target. During his Goa interaction, he also highlighted the point that he has not just put his political capital at stake, but also his life due to his decision to act against the black money holders.
“People will try to destroy me, they may not let me live due to the steps that I am taking against corruption. I want to work for the country and I left my home as well as family for the same,”-said Prime Minister Modi said in Goa.
Sense of satisfaction
People found the speech heartwarming and tear rendering, but I wonder if anyone observed his body language.
Everyone may not agree with me, but during the Goa speech, stiffness in PM’s body language was all gone. His body language seemed different compared to what I observed during his previous speeches that he delivered as country’s PM. The former chief minister of Gujarat showed extreme confidence and used powerful gestures as well.
Bangalore-based renowned Psychologist-Akshara Damle shared his opinion about PM’s body language during Goa speech.
“A clear sign of a sense of accomplishment for taking a monster step, which has made a phenomenal impact on black money holders, was visible on Prime Minister Modi’s face during the speech,”-said the young psychologist, who closely follows country’s politics.
Damle stressed on the point that Modi’s emotional outburst seen during his Goa speech showed how much painful the entire procedure of governing has been, and how he is managing the same.
“He showed that he is a winner and he has a proper strategy for his fight against black money. His courage of conviction about his steps was seen when he openly challenged people to show his mistakes and said that he is ready to take the punishment if citizens are convinced that India has not become better under his rule. The confidence to deliver when he asked people to help and cooperate for 50 days was tremendous. This shows that PM is at work all the time,”-said the Bangalore-based expert.
“Government’s strategy seems to be very well planned. Perhaps PM was asking poor people in rural areas to open PMJDY accounts and was promoting the use of debit cards as part of a strategy to reduce dependence on cash transactions.”
The 66-year-old man is generating praise as well as blessings from all quarters. He claims he does not have family and is alone. Hope he is aware that there are millions of Indians who offer prayers to God for his well-being and consider him as their own.
