A 42year old RSS worker was hacked to death after repeatedly striking him with machetes by two bike borne men in broad daylight in the busy streets of Shivajinagar on 16th October in Bengaluru. It was only a week ago that another RSS worker Ramith was hacked to death in Pinrayi district under the Communists rule in Kerala. Time and again BJP or RSS workers are targeted across the nation and Kerala in particular, which now seems to be fast making its way into Karnataka.
The recent brutal murders of BJP worker K.Raju in Mysuru, VHP worker Kuttappa in Kodagu and Prashant Pujari in Moodbidri and now the heart numbing hacking of Rudresh leaves one with absolute disgust and dismay at the blood thirsty politics being played out in the name of ideology under the Congress and the Communist regimes that work on a quid-pro-quo formula forming a leftist narrative which of late seems to be anything that is against Hinduism or BJP.
Anything, whether it is anti-nation or anti-humanity there is little space for any logic or reasoning with absolutely no regard for human life. At least some 200 people have been murdered in Kerala alone and the list of political killings is only growing alarmingly as a series of RSS’s workers and honest police/bureaucratic officials’ being murdered or harassed is testimony to the growing audacity of vandalistic polity amidst brazen lawlessness and lack of political will to enforce strict action on the guilty. The police has already opined like in the past many cases by attributing personal rivalry as the cause behind the crime even while the probe is ongoing and at the initial stage.
As the BJP protests and demands a quick and impartial probe against the targeted killings, the Karnataka CM, the champion of Ahinda politics, parrots the same words of assurance of a clean probe like in the murder case of honest and upright officer DK Ravi.
While an Akhlaq gets Front Page coverage and the main stream media goes all out foraging on communal furor about the alleged threat to safety of minorities, for days together with an orchestrated carnival of Awardwapsi by the liberals, an RSS worker ’s blood curdling murder does not perhaps fit into a pompous intolerance narrative.
The harsh fact is that it is actually the Hindu majority that is reeling under threat from hostile, intolerant, divisive forces administering doses of self-loathing, culture wrecking and fear inducing repressions disguised as social and secular remedies from decades together. The Hindus live in a timorous environment where the nomenclature is to concede that it is always a particular lower caste or minority community that is oppressed and not otherwise. The ground reality however is in stark contrast of the larger propaganda prevalent today.
The propagandists may not agree but the decades of vilification of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, constantly branding them as a radical Hindu group while communally inclined minority appeasers were championed as liberals bears imprints of an organized witch hunt of Hindus.
But today, this propagated radical image is fast eroding away in the wake of social media revolution that has brought out the divisive and culture eroding tactics from the pseudo secular closets. It has awakened the masses to the many initiatives of educational, social and service programs undertaken by the RSS.
People today are appreciative of their initiatives and stance and are getting drawn to their various nationalistic programs. It is perhaps this aspect of truly secular and holistic Hindu congregation coupled with logical reasoning with facts and figures that they fear will shut their shops, hence they find reproaching the RSS as an easy option and often this anarchic abhorrence is translated into violent intimidations and brutal killings which unfortunately is met with a mere condemnation with no stringent legal actions taken or common political solutions arrived at.
It is ironical that peace talks are proposed with terror manufacturers across the borders but no remedial political peace talks happen within (proposed ones were thwarted by the CPIM) or permanent consensus reached to break political or ideological logjams.
The secular packages where hatred as an ideology is encapsulated into religious diktats and political enslavements are pledged to external powers, words like humanity, and freedom of speech become the privileged patents of a selected few, in this case the religious minorities who are enjoying maximum liberal considerations under the constitution with not much legal obligations attached as they can continue to play their minority victimization card.
In the end if what follows the bloodshed of ideological wars are nothing but protests, a negligible and biased media coverage on the third or fourth page, social media carnival of words of harsh condemnation or hateful contempt, bleak assurances and synthetic sympathies by the law keepers until it all moves back into sordid silence only to continue with the same routine politics of minority appeasement, pumping crores of tax payers’ money into religious schools of secularism.
That it is happening even under a BJP government at the center reflects the sorry state of vote bank politics deeply ingrained into our system from decades, that has today led to this situation where religious radicals roam around freely dictating and intimidating the majority community. Such is their political and social domination shielded by minority rights where any detractors or voices of dissent or even an alternative idea from within their own clan is met with lawsuits and violent killings, so much that even the state police are tied up under political pressure to be tight lipped and act in accordance with the ruling cult lest they face the same wrath of violent muscle politics or systematic isolation and career degradation or death.
Most of these criminals even if taken into custody are acquitted within few months or days citing lack of evidence of their involvement in killings. And this is the political order of the day where minorities are let off and sympathized with or dealt with kid gloves.
The K factor is boiling, Kashmir _ Kolkata _ Kerala and what next is it going to be Karnataka?
In this grave scenario where real freedom of speech, movement or religion is being hijacked by hegemonic fundamentalists, the time has elapsed where one could light talk of breaking the Berlin walls of communism threatening within and dream of organic transformational reforms and reintegration, of states and people who are swooned in a deep trance of anarchic regimes.
It is time the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) which is otherwise very eloquent for the cause of Hurriyat or Maoists, intervened here too or the center legislated a new concrete mechanism to take control of states that are brewing anti-national thoughts and actions by banning such communist organizations who cannot protect freedom of religion or freedom of expression, lest people lose faith in a fair secular democracy!
