Come what may, Pakistan has lost the guerrilla warfare advantage against INDIA right now. What the famous surgical strike on 29th September had proved, was the loss of the surprise element, which before Uri was a plus point, to quote our ex PM Manmohan Singh, for the terrorists. However, it seems that the traders of terror and their overlords haven’t learnt anything from the surgical strike, and now, they woke up to face another humiliation.
In the wee hours of Monday, 17th October, a huge cordon of terrorists, backed by Pakistan Rangers’ relentless ceasefire violations, infiltrated the international border, aiming to launch a fidayeen (suicide attack) on the lines of Uri, at the camp of Rashtriya Rifles in Janbazpora, outside Baramulla, Jammu & Kashmir, not very far away from the official LINE OF CONTROL (LoC). However, this time, they were unprepared for something else.
Incensed by the Zakura disaster, and encouraged by the surgical strike, the camp was on high alert, and they beat back the attack successfully, however, not without suffering the loss of a BSF jawan, and the injury of another soldier. The militants, who had fled from the scene, had thought that this was the end. Trust me, this was actually the beginning.
In a flash of moments, a joint force of Indian Army, BSF, CRPF & Jammu & Kashmir Police personnel launched a search operation in the old town of Baramulla, where they extensively searched for the terrorists in ten localities, earmarked for their sensitivity, which included the likes of the following:-
- QAZI HAMAM
- GANAI HAMAM
- TAWEED GUNJ
- JAMIA etc.
In a major success since the famous surgical strike of 29th September, the joint forces busted several of the major terror hideouts, arresting a sizeable number of terrorists and their active sympathizers and colleagues.
Within a span of 12 mind boggling hours, and after searching more than 700 dwellings in Baramulla, the joint forces of INDIA managed to nab 44 terrorists alive. Yes, you heard it right, 44, potential recruits for the deadly sleeper cells of terrorism ALIVE!
I hope some of my so called liberal friends remember it for some other reason perfectly well.
To quote defence spokesperson Manish Kumar, apart from the 44 alive terrorists arrested, following was also exposed during the search operation :-
- Presence of petrol bombs
- Presence of Chinese (mark this) and PAKISTANI flags
- Letterpads of both Lashkar e Toiba and Jaish E Muhammad
- Illegal Mobile Phones among other seditious materials
- A subsequent warning to Baramulla SHO for the search operations by Jaish e Mohammad
Still doubtful about the involvement of Pakistan in the same?
If this was enough, the joint forces have also taken the militants to an unknown location, cutting them off from both the coverage and the glare of the Indian media, which is mostly anything but INDIAN, save a few exceptions.
Dispelling the doubts about the search operation, the SSP of Baramulla Imtiyaz Hussain Mir quoted, “We had information about the presence of militants in the area. It was an anti-militancy operation aimed at nabbing some Jaish-e-Mohammed militants who had taken refuge in the area,”
What does this signify?
This indicates a major shift in the paradigm of the Indian defence approach. In the current decade, where saving a few noble exceptions, almost the entire world is submissive towards the menace of terrorism, the no nonsense approach of the Indian armed forces, whether in the surgical strike, or in the recent Baramulla operations, has given the signal that INDIA will not bow down to the whims and fancies of terrorism, come what may. Political credit may be divided, but there’s no denying the fact that if we owe our freedom to someone, it is to our Indian armed forces, no matter which uniform they sport!
