Is Moral Policing a trait of Right Wing Activism?

The Una episode has brought to the forefront the evergreen issue of ‘Moral Policing’ which is always at the core of the Liberals Agenda. In fact the main reason which the Liberals have against the Hindu Right Wing is the issue of Moral Policing, which they view as a ‘Fascist’ agenda. Which brings us to a pertinent question, ‘Why are the Liberals so soft on Islamists, whose stand on morality is ultra severe?’ Many intellectuals have tried to find a suitable and plausible answer to this riddle. Why are the Indian Liberals so soft on Islamists and on the other hand finding the somewhat social anger of the Hindus so alarming and so obnoxious?

I was engaged in a debate with a friend of mine, who is a consistent BJP baiter on the Una episode. His 1st contention was that BJP was anti-Dalit. A few days later when it has come out that the persons flogged were not Dalit, rather, they were Christians, he maintained that, ‘is this kind of Policing still good??’ I really wanted to go deep into his psyche. I wanted to gauge, from where is his opposition coming from?? Is he guided by ideology, or by general aversion? Or, by falsely fed information? What is it which guides him to such a stand?

When I asked him, why he switched his goal post from Dalit to general, he was silent. I was very clear and emphatic with him, which is, once he raised the subject of BJP being anti-Dalit, he should immediately drop his agenda like hot coal the moment it has become clear that the persons flogged were not Dalit. He became evasive, and mentioned that, Dalit or no Dalit, is such flogging right? I clearly asked him, is it the Dalit issue, flogging issue or is it actually the Beef issue which was his agenda? I didn’t receive his answer yet.

It was clear his opinion formulation was based on Media reports and content. Which than brings us to the most important link of this Liberal-Nationalist debate, which is Media. It was clear that my friend was not ready to change or drop his agenda, how many times I prove to him that the Una episode, or Akhlaq episode, or Rohit Vemula episode were perhaps engineered episodes and the BJP or right wing groups were not associated with either of these incidents or aftermath. Gone are those days when people were prepared to sit and listen and debate and convince or get convinced. I was part of a generation where people used to humbly accept their defeat and become part of the group. Those were the still lower Middle Class days of everyone, where the strive and hunger for success was far more than winning an argument. Opinions were easy to be formulated and easy to be countered. With those who lost an opinion or argument humbly subjecting themselves to the new opinion.

But today’s successful Hindu is a product of hard work and wallowing in success, whether Middle Class, Upper Middle Class or Rich Class. He has more time to think about his Opinions and how he formulates it. And the kind of coverage which the Media has given the country since 2 decades has fed him with a volume of lies whose depths would challenge the depths of the Pacific. His commitment to his Opinion now is full fledged. It will perhaps take a tsunami or major calamity which will wipe out all his possessions and bring him to the streets for him to make his Opinions and beliefs again fragile. This is, where & why Christian Missionaries have been very very successful throughout the world. They have always patiently targeted population in calamity struck areas where opinions and beliefs are at their lowest ebb.

Perhaps a widely publicized trial of Barkha Dutt, Rajdeep, Sagarika, Ravish, Bhupendra Chaubey, Karan Thapar or Punya Prasoon Bajpai on charges of treason might help. But, I’m still doubtful.  This brings us to the main part of this analysis. Why and how have certain or perhaps major section of the Media chosen to align against the Right at the cost of aligning themselves with the Islamists and Christian Right? Is it a firm belief in liberalism which guides them? If that was so than they should be crying themselves hoarse against the Kashmiris, ISIS, Islamist radicals, Christian Missionary agenda, terrorism etc, which are all basically anti-liberal acts?? But, rather, we find them now being open terror apologists at the expense of Hindus and Hindu Nationalism. This is very strange. Extremely strange!!!

India always had a great tradition of Moral Policing. All the great heroes which this great Nation has produced have cut their teeth and made their mark through a string of Moral Policing episodes. India’s great and unmatched social culture has always used Moral Policing within limits whenever it has been perceived that certain social conduct has been transgressed. This has been the norm since the evolution of this nation since Millennia. India of today is not exactly a Utopian Society, where at times certain limits of Moral Policing are necessary. As it has come out, Western Utopian societies have succumbed to Serial Killers, Rapists and now Suicide Bombers. Now what is or should be considered as ‘Social Transgression’ is a subject open to debate, which the Liberal Media would like to lead us into with glee.

But one thing is sure that, the overzealous activity of the Liberal Media has all but killed the tradition of Moral Policing which is actually the Cultural Backbone of this great nation. This is one of the main reasons we increasingly see events such as Nirbhaya, Bulandshahar, etc continuing unabated and unchecked. Main reason being the culprits have lost the fear of Society. The term ‘Moral Policing’ has become an abuse. With the liberal Media openly favoring and supporting campaigns such as the ‘Pink Chaddies’ campaign and ‘Kiss of love’ campaign against acts of ‘Moral Policing’, they have succeeded in catching the imagination of a certain section of youth and aligning them against various acts of Moral Policing which in fact is dying a slow death unable to face the relentless onslaught against it.

To put it plain & simple, Moral Policing is an essential part of our Social fabric. Trying to link Moral Policing to Right Wing activism is a favorite blunder which the Liberal Media keeps walking into. It is clear that, their coverage of such events with lies and half truths is specifically agenda driven.

The right answer is that, this particular section of Media is completely sold out. They have sold out to the highest bidder who is not from the country, and who wants to control the country’s religious agenda. This particular section of the Media is sold out to the Petro & Vatican Dollars. Meaning, to the Middle East as well as the Vatican. This brings us to another query. Middle East & Vatican at the same time???? Islam & Christianity both at the same time??? 2 Religions which are already at logger heads in the killing fields of Middle East and engaging in a deadly war of supremacy. Doesn’t sound logical. How can the same Media House be sold out to both the Arabs & Vatican at the same time?? You better make some sense. Well the answer lays in the winner gets the most spoils. The common enemy here (India) is emerging Right Wing Nationalism. Let’s see this challenge off than we both decide who will take the spoils or share the spoils. Let’s both employ a set of Indian Liberals, who will 1st concentrate on destroying the Indian Right Wing Agenda. Let is both pump in money in their Millions if not Billions and let us set the agenda in this Nation which has resisted Islam though being ruled by Muslims for close to a Millennium and by Christians for close to 3 Centuries.

The country of China, the great China which the Chinese would like to feel themselves as, has totally succumbed to to the Christian Challenge, with close to 40% Chinese already unofficially Christian. 70% of South Korea has totally embraced Christianity. For those who don’t know 100% of Taiwan which the Chinese consider as theirs is Christian. There is no aspect and corner of this free world which has not been carved up between these 2 Semitic Religions originated from the dry lands of the Middle East.

India, this great pure land is their last and final frontier.
