“You search Google for Stupid Prime Minister and Google shows you Modi”. This was quoted by eminent Congress leader Rashid Alvi. Of course, people started chanting Congress Prince’s name as soon as the word Stupid was uttered. Before uttering the golden words, Rashid Alvi also subtly told Smriti Irani that she is very ‘close’ to Modi. Rashid Alvi was showcasing his gutter mentality when he took a google search as Gospel Truth and quoted it in a public forum. Not just this, he stupidly walked to the stage and showed everyone the find of the century. Rashid Alvi was unaware of the fact that he was making a gigantic fool of himself on a public stage.
Noted Poet and Lyricist Prasoon Joshi smacked some sense in the unschooled brain of Rashid Alvi and said that it’s the google algorithm that tracks the patterns of the searches and displays results.
The results are not truth, just patterns. Rashid Alvi represents the desperation of the Modi hating cabal. They do not think twice before disgracing themselves in public and very spectacularly show. Also Rashid Alvi pronounced Google as Goggle which was duly corrected by Film Director Ashoke Pandit.
Remember how the internet was on fire couple of months back, when a search for ‘Top 10 criminals in the world’ showed pictures of Narendra Modi along with criminals like Dawood Ibrahim and Al Capone. The Modi lovers were bound to be disturbed. The Right leaning denizens of the internet complained as an amused opposition watched. Things got escalated, ending into a formal apology by Google, Inc.
Google said: “These results trouble us and are not reflective of the opinions of Google. Sometimes, the way images are described on the internet can yield surprising results to specific queries. We apologise for any confusion or misunderstanding this has caused. We’re continually working to improve our algorithms to prevent unexpected results like this.”
The results to the query “top 10 criminals in India” was due to a British daily which had an image of Modi and erroneous metadata. According to Google, the image search results were drawn from multiple news articles with images of Modi and his statements with regard to politicians with a criminal background. Google Further added.
Rashid Alvi was quoting a similar search. A search for “World’s Most Stupid Prime Ministers” showed Narendra Modi along with other leaders like David Cameron, Tony Abbot and even former leaders like Lee Kuan Yew.
Coming back to the India TV Samvad Event. People took turns at mocking Rashid Alvi who still stared at his phone screen, appreciating the grandeur of his find. A bemused Smriti Irani finally took the mic and proclaimed “Now this is certain that anyone in Congress who spits at Modi, hurls abuses at him and sticks to false claims to vilify him get plush positions”
The hatred for Modi is such that people sometimes, in their quest to demean him, forget that he represents the hopes and aspirations of the largest democracy of the world, home to 1.2 billion inquisitive souls. Smriti Irani attacked Rashid Alvi for his ‘subtle’ hint about her closeness to Modi. She said Rashid Bhai told me that I am close to Modi in a lecherous way, I live with this all the time and then people ask “Why does Smriti Irani lose her cool so often?”
She ended the assault on Rashid Alvi with this statement:
“There is a cabal of people who have festered this democracy for too long. They have lived off the scraps of the dynasty and they have done this irrespective of the damage they do to institutions, because their whole survival was never dependent on their talent but because of their proximity. Everyone who took offense of Rashid Alvi ‘s Statement today are not BJP Supporters or BJP Voters or Modi Fans. They got offended because they know that when you malign a PM, you do not malign a party but a post which belongs to the nation.”
