Amidst the raging National & Anti-National debate, which is basically being kept and maintained alive by a particular section of the Media, the Nation has been welcomed and greeted to a pretty provocative and offensive News Headline today. This article featured in India Today.
India Today is a premier political portal. Can we have a National Main Stream Media have such a headline mentioning, ‘Golden Chance for Pakistan to Humiliate India’? A headline such as ‘Golden chance for Pakistan to get even with India’, or a little further as, ‘Golden chance for Pakistan to defeat India’ could have easily served the purpose of their news item. But, ‘…Humiliate India!’ I haven’t heard and seen any such News Headline in my life.
What are these self serving Media Personalities up to? The wife of a famous Media Personality, who herself is part of the Media tweets that, she enjoyed her Beef and Pork for lunch/Dinner. At the same time, severely castigating a BJP MLA for the reported thrashing of a horse. Which, the several videos of the incident declare otherwise. Is she imagining that a Beef and Pork dish is cooked by kissing or whispering the poor animals to death? Or, by hacking them to death at an abattoir? 75%-90% of them (abattoirs) being owned and run by the community which she and her self confessed anti-national husband protect. She herself consumes meat by the inhuman hacking of an animal, and she castigates the reported beating of a horse by a BJP MLA.
Perhaps she has to be enlightened that, this very horse, like many other horses, will be transported to an abattoir when old, by a person belonging that community which she and her self confessed anti-national husband support, and hacked to death and served as a delicacy for a certain section who don’t belong to the BJP MLA’s community or section. There is also a distinct possibility that the cooked meat of this horse, which is also considered as a High Value Delicacy could also be served in a cocktail circuit which she and her husband prominently belong to. Perhaps, they already have. If one haves a sneak peak at Cocktail circuit dinners, Horse Meat is one of the prominent Menu Items.
Coming back to the India Today headline, was this an ignorant attempt? Or, was this a taunt by India Today through the extremely provocative headline at the countless and growing BJP as well as Nationalist Supporters? Normally, a mistake out of ignorance is usually forgiven. But, if the mistake or error is out of huge inflated self esteem, which is basically, ‘I can do nothing wrong attitude’, then it is more unpardonable then a mistake done out of purpose. The viewers of the India Today headline should be allowed to judge the reasons behind such an extremely provocative and despiteful headline.
I cannot imagine, which is more dangerous. Kanhaiya Kumar raising a once in a while ‘Anti-National’ Slogan, or, the repeated transgressions of certain Media Outlets like India Today, peaking with this brutal and highly provocation laded headline.
It is also highly ironic that, the India Today headline should also belong to the same Media House that both Husband and wife belong to. And, if this headline was a taunt, with the message that, ‘look this is my journalistic freedom, do what u can’, then, it is high time these instigators should be taken to task and shown their place. Albeit, in a legal way.
I am reading a more sinister challenge in this attempt. Basically which is, to create a pitch and a scenario, to make the general Indian Population to accept a Pro-Pakistan argument? With the subsequent aim of the general population going against the BJP Government if and when it chooses to have an aggressive anti-Pakistan line, whenever Pakistan decides to cross their thresh hold vis-à-vis India. Which again, they are likely to sooner do in a major way. I had my doubts during my JNU incident. But, now things are being made amply loud and clear. But subsequent Media stupor and the several JNU videos of certain Professors severely castigating India and its dominating designs and the coverage of the same is making things sinisterly clear.
A general population of over a Billion which has been fed since more than 60 years that Pakistan is your natural enemy, is being made to realize that, Pakistan has become the enemy due to India’s own choosing and transgressions vis-à-vis Pakistan all along, and Pakistan has the right to come inside India and ‘Humiliate India’, even if it is for a Cricket match.
Not mentioning the tremendous pressure on the players (specially the Indian players now after these headlines) who should take it as just another sporting contest. Win or loss, depending on who plays best on that day. In fact the headlines such as this India Today one, has served to totally remove the pressure from the Pakistan Players and thrust down the throats of the Indian players who are already under pressure due to loss against the Black Caps. Was this pressure necessary? Or, was this pressure deliberately created?? The viewer and reader should be the judge.
I refer back to my previous article that, by initiating a National-Anti National debate, the BJP has subsequently initiated a spectrum of alignment, which basically exposes everyone who claim to occupy the ‘High Moral Ground’.
