Rajdeep Sardesai may not be THE most hated media person in India but he certainly will feature in any list of the most hated journalists of India, any given day. Rajdeep Sardesai, currently the Consulting Editor of Headlines Today, has been an ‘iconic’ journalist who has been bred and nurtured under the benevolence of the Congress Party. And like any loyal employee, he loves his masters and hates their competitors. Rajdeep Sardesai doesn’t hesitate from a very public display of his abhorrence against BJP and Narendra Modi in particular.
Not very long ago, he was heckled by Modi supporters outside Madison Square Garden in New York. The enthusiasm for a Modi Event abroad was unlike anything seen before and it was too much to take for a hardcore Congress loyalist like Rajdeep Sardesai. His power of endurance gave way to his well concealed aggression and he started calling the crowd “A Narendra Modi Frenzied Crowd”. He then asked them, if one man (Modi that is) can change India. He went ahead and asked people if they had paid to watch the ‘show’? And when the crowd started showing their shades of aggression, he asked them if they were taught by Modi to behave badly. The iconic journalist transformed into a roadside ruffian and resorted to physical assault.
He shook the entire episode off by calling NRI Modi fans as “People with Money but No Class”.
Yesterday Rajdeep Sardesai was face to face with Bihari Voters. His public display of abhorrence for Modi was again out in the open when he interviewed people randomly with the question “How do you know or can ensure that Modi Ji is not corrupt?”, to which the Bihari voters replied “Modi May or May not develop Bihar, but Lalu Yadav will definitely not develop Bihar”. The iconic journalist turned into a mute spectator, much the prime minister of the last Congress government.
So what is Rajdeep Sardesai going to call the people of Bihar “People with no money and no class?”
A seasoned journalist like Rajdeep Sardesai must know that Lalu Prasad Yadav literally ate up whatever little was left in Bihar. A seasoned journalist like Rajdeep Sardesai must know that Lalu destroyed the reputation of an entire state. A seasoned journalist like Rajdeep Sardesai must know that Lalu made Biharis an object of public ridicule. A seasoned journalist like Rajdeep Sardesai must know that Biharis were reduced to an emblem of poverty, over-population and corruption under Lalu’s regime. It was because of Lalu, that Bihari itself became a swearword. I am sure a seasoned journalist Rajdeep Sardesai knows that.
Rajdeep Sardesai may go around embellishing people or groups with various adjectives but the reality is not going to change. Any person in his senses will not support Lalu Prasad Yadav and who knows it better than the Biharis? And Rajdeep Sardesai, you must thank your lucky stars that the ones he interviewed chose to be nice and polite to him. These are election times, emotions are running high. Biharis are nice people but they do not take insults lightly. No I am not warning or anything, I am just saying that a little demureness wouldn’t harm.
