Flag insulted, internet.org promoted, Nadella wiping hands, Zuckerberg dragged? Indian Media has never been this desperate

As Modi reached out to Mark Zuckerberg, the man who revolutionized Social Media with Facebook, to help him promote his idea of Digital India, he was immediately confronted with a series of ‘controversies’, from Satya Nadella apparently wiping his hands after shaking his hands with Narendra Modi to the Digital India customized Facebook Profile Picture to promote the brand. After the colossal disappointment at branding Modi antinational in the Indian Flag controversy, the Internet latched on to these ridiculous notions to satisfy their urges for their daily dose of gossip and rumour mongering, cooked up by people driven cynical by too many Conspiracy Theories (ILLUMINATI!) or those on the Internet who are absolutely convinced their versions of events are exactly what actually transpired and others endorse their ideas simply because it gives them the opportunity to make fun of something they aren’t too fond of. Of course, there’s an alternate version of events which make perfect sense and obviously more reasonable and sensible because maybe, just maybe, that is exactly what happened?

internet.org
Remember this hilarious picture from our Facebook Page?

When Facebook introduced the Tricolour Profile Picture to help promote Digital India, even before the idea could take root and go viral, some genius on the Internet noticed that the HTML code underneath had bits that contained the word ‘Internetorg.’ Internet Org as we know is a platform that would infringe the Neutrality of the Internet by forcing the consumer to pay more for certain services. Bingo! The Illuminati Syndrome kicked in and the conspiracy addled brain somehow managed to deduce that it obviously implied that changing your Facebook profile picture to the Tricolour means you give your consent to the Draconian Internet.org. Voila! Good job, Sherlock! Unfortunately, however, for our Sherlock, a Facebook spokesperson in his statement to Huffpost India made it clear there was connection between the two whatsoever. The spokesperson said, “There is absolutely no connection between updating your profile picture for digital India and Internet.org. An engineer mistakenly used the words “Internet.org profile picture” as a shorthand name he chose for part of the code. But this product in no way connects to or registers support for Internet.org. We are changing the code today to eliminate any confusion.” Sigh. A conspiracy theory goes bust again. It was good while it lasted. Not.

Satya doesn’t look shocked, not one bit

And then there was the video that went viral which showed Satya Nadella wiping his hands after shaking hands with Narendra Modi. And as always, the Anti-Modi bloc was absolutely convinced that Satya Nadella did so because *obviously* he was uncomfortable with shaking hands with Modi. I mean.. Seriously? A man of Nadella’s stature would have compunction shaking hands with the Prime Minister of the largest democracy in the world? Well, that sounds, for the lack of a better word, delusional. Because obviously Mr. Nadella couldn’t have done it out of habit or sheer whim, right? Probably the video went viral simply because most people found something funny about it but the enthusiasm some people displayed while humiliating PM Modi on account or Mr. Nadella’s behaviour shows how desperate some people are to find some fault in every good thing he does. An unhealthy mind tries to drag everyone down to his level and then try to beat everyone on grounds they are most familiar with. But they should be aware, sensible people are smart enough to recognize their insidious motives and ignore their incessant rumour mongering.

Another idea that went viral on the Internet was Modi apparently dragging Mark Zuckerberg for a photo. On a new uncut video that has been released, it is clearly obvious that Narendra Modi merely nudges Mark for a photo together. It is by no means anything extraordinary or worthy of notice in itself but made extraordinary by its association with Narendra Modi. All of us must have noticed some prominent politician nudging another delegate for a photo but because it was Modi, it had to gain negative attention.

I can clearly hear SIR THIS SIDE! CAN YOU HEAR IT TOO?

What’s distressing about the whole affair is that the Mainstream Media and journalists of prominent newspapers or channels often promote these baseless rumor mongering and gossip to help bring them into light. When the world is looking up to Narendra Modi to revolutionize India, some journalists find time to indulge in pointless stories instead of focusing on the good that Mr. Modi is trying to do. It is distressing that some prominent social media handles and pages instead of verifying the rumors such as the one about Internet.org help them gain prominence by highlighting them further.

That the Mainstream Media appears to be extensively anti-Modi is no secret. And biased that they are, they latch on to any bit of rumor they can find to further their propaganda. ABP Live, zeenews, India times are only few that published headlines along the lines of “Satya Nadella insults Modi.” One simple question, why would he do that?! What does he stand to gain by it? And pardon me for saying, shouldn’t you be focusing more on the actual developments Modi is trying to bring in? But obviously, that doesn’t fit in your agenda, does it now?

One simple fact that emerges is the Mainstream Media picks stories from Social Media when it helps them garner more revenue and when valid facts are presented to counter their propaganda, the person who presents them is immediately disregarded as a troll. As Master Yoda would say, “Drunk on Propaganda and TRP they are. Expose them You Must!”

Well, the least that can be said is responsible journalism on the part of the MSM is a thing of the past now. Generation of Revenue has gained so much importance that it seems as long as promoting an agenda gets them what they want, they are more than willing to promote it. However, we live in an age of information. And in the age of information, the Mainstream Media has to either report accurate information or they will stand to lose all their credibility. If they haven’t already that is.

lol even if Zuckerburg was in the way, there was no need to pull him away. The point still stands about Modi’s obsession about the camera and fame. No offense to Modi-fans.. i’m sure he is a good leader though..

I don’t know what you mean by that. But there was no need to pull Zuck away. Had he done this to modi, you all would be like “Zuckerburg should be hanged alive”. I don’t see the point of any proof. Modi was disrespectful.

umm nope. That particular assumption is correct, and you know it.

    • Avatar si91 says:

He didn’t pull him, he nudged him. The very fact that we are quibbling about pulling and nudging, which all politicians do during photo sessions, is proof of how shameless and intellectually bankrupt the Indian media is. Why is Modi, and only Modi excoriated for this alleged “disrespect” and “obsession” with fame?

    • Avatar Prateek Varma says:

My comments are being deleted. No point of typing here any longer. …btw, not pulled, but nudged? lol ok.

    • Avatar si91 says:

You’re missing the point. Pulled, nudged, why is this such an issue? All politicians do stuff like this in photo shoots. Only Modi is put under a microscope and condemned for it as though it is somehow a cardinal sign of narcissism. Does the Indian media have nothing else better to do? Does it have no issues of substance to report?

    • Avatar Prateek Varma says:

If other ‘Indian politicians’ do it, that does not really justify rudeness. Look at Zuckerburg, how embarrassed he looks. I repeat, if this was done to Modi by Zuck, you all would be wanting to get him to give an apology..

    • Avatar si91 says:

It’s not just Indian politicians, public figures in the spotlight to stuff like this all the time. If I had no life (unlike the media) I could probably scrutinize every hand gesture and facial tick to manufacture “rude” behavior in just about anybody. The crucial difference is that none of them are raked over the coals for trivial nonsense like Modi is. As far as Zuck’s hypothetical rudeness is concerned, you are exaggerating. Modi supporters have tolerated far worse abuse against Modi without calling for apologies.

    • Avatar Prateek Varma says:

Ok, let’s face it – Modi can never be wrong. Period.

    • Avatar si91 says:

No, Modi can be wrong and has been, many times. That said, if you’re criticizing him over nudging or pulling in a photo op, then you are really scraping the bottom of the barrel, because you have literally no other issues to complain about, which is rather pathetic, wouldn’t you agree? Criticize the man for his policies, not his dress, his handshakes, or other trivial stuff.

    • Avatar Prateek Varma says:

Ok, maybe pulling and nudging people afterall is ok. But just don’t get in between the camera ;)

    • Avatar Ankur says:

Haha..How stupid you have to be think that a Prime Minister of World’s largest democracy needs any more fame… stupidity level #AAPTARD

    • Avatar Prateek Varma says:

Yes, we’re the largest democracy, and this does not mean the end of Modi’s obsession. Disrespecting someone is disrespecting. And no, i don’t support AAP.

Very well said! But the PM just got the taste of his own medicine. This is exactly what he and his party had been doing with the last government.
For example they didnt let the parliament function for last few years of the last government and now they are worried about its not functioning.
As for Nadella obviously washing hands after a handshake is a rude gesture unless of’course modi had diseased/dirty hands. Its almost like closing doors before the guest even leaves. We consider this rude in India.
Pic with mark? Why would a PM of India would ask a businessman for a click why should even he nudge it? Well he need likes for facebook. More then a good PM he is a good media manager. But then he was representing Indian Industrialists, he might not have done that if he was representing India.

Our governent is currently going to implement Gaumutra for cleaning floors in the parliament. Gaumutra is going to replace phenoly for cleaning floors of goverment buildings as said by Manika Gandhi. Days are not far when gaumutra will be available as a drink in goverment deparments. Many ministers in this goverment consider Gaumutra as a cure for cancer and many other dieases.

The woman was showing something to the two of them and Mark Zuckerberg was unknowingly blocking the camera, so Modi pulled him to the side – It’s actually a reasonable thing to do, but still I have to admit that the first time I saw the video I thought it was hilarious

    Very well written Kalpojyothi .

As rightly said once when people are talking and are hating you believe that you are progressing…

There are half – truths flying around from all sides by #‎presstitutes‬ ‪#‎leftists‬ and ‪#‎aaptards. SImple online rule one should think twice before posting anything online and sharing with sheepish mentality.

It’s up to us to believe what we want to believe. In either case, our beliefs stem from our biases‪

    Cheers Bro

dude come out of the closet….stop blindly worshipping modi…theres no exucuse for his low class behavior..instead of acting like this..blaming “aaptards” or congressis…send a book on basic etiquette to ur modi.

    • Avatar Bitter.Scotch says:

First let me clear on thing Its not about etiquette here its about friendly relationship. Though being a PM of worlds largest democracy he never dicriminates between a layman or political figure or a businessman. I bet you would do the same when you consider everyone as your friend or a companion who have same thoughts and wavelength as yours.

well whatever be the reason that looked bad on camera pulling someone by arm like that… just to clarify i am not anti-modi but i felt bad the way he grabbed his arm he could have just asked him to step aside.

Forgive him, he is afterall a chaiwala (in his own words). Merely wearing a ten lakh suit does not make some one a horse. he remains what he is.

    • Avatar Mr. V says:

He is not a chaiwala, he represents India in events like this, and his small acts however small gets noticed. So he should avoid these things in future.

    Thanks Frustrated Indian!

Mark my words. One day you will criticize the same person. And i will be laughing on you, because you are so blind in “Bhakti” that you cannot see the long term loss due to service industry “boozing up” miracle!

    I dare you!

Post about “Make In India” current scenario, what comes in & what goes out in the manufacturing sector! how many plants have been approved and how much amount of investment dragged from may 2014 till date. What are the plans about countering china’s market monopoly! What will be the strategy to counter Inflation! Why share market debacled when China devalues its currency! What are the plans to protect Indian currency!

Will you?? Hahahaha! come on! you cannot criticize yaar! you will never ;)

    Jai ho!

LOL Dinesh Joshi. You are real asshole! Wait bhai saab. wait. you are going to be one of those torch holders, burning the same paper of achievements by your frustration. The day your boss will toss you out from your office. you will feel the heat. being optimistic & being blind is completely different. I am optimistic & you are blind. DO you know about recessions?? why don’t you talk about onions now?? and why don’t you talk about policies? Ohk! Jan Dhan Yojna??? Such that Adani group can get a loan from SBI for an Australian project?? Come on. how can you people so blind?

What about Swatchh Ganga Abhiyan? And what about Ganga Ministry?

Make in India was so hyped. kya ho rha?? I am afraid that the government is working like a group of startup people, trying their hands in each sector. koi toh click karo bhai!

Now lets talk about some more.

Have you read nepal Issue? or Pakistan? or China? get a in-depth research on these issues.

Again. if you can recall, the govt is planning to develop a corridor for bullet train, from delhi to chennai. AAAnnn???? Bullet train? What it will cost? 2 Lakh Crore! Woah! I can travel the same distance by flight for 6K in 4-5 hours. Is it a necessity? or the Infrastructure of our country is the need of the hour!

I can bet that I can nail you will 100+ issues and you don’t have a reply! Waiting for your reply Love :)

aftet sicial medias arrival the importance of tv has come down, in order to stay in bussiness they come up with all type of negative reporting. if all the villagers get connectef, then no takers for these marons, modi will directly interact with his citizens, the press said with present internet how modi reach these 60k villages, facebook lite 2G is enough for this. we have already 2G. modi has clear vision, he clearly knows what to do. and HE WILL DO IT.

Please STFU…dont try to defend the totally uncivilized behavior of our idiotic jackass pm…..dragging a person is NOT acceptable….Nadella understandably wiped his hands after shaking hands with a man whose hands are drenched in blood. Horrible article in a horrible website….you guys are total losers….Get this..Modi is not some God…he makes mistakes….learn to take that criticism and tell ur modi to stop making a fool of himself.

Not that I really care if anyone pushed anyone aside or not, How do you prove that “Sir this side” or whatever she told is NOT dubbed over the original video ?

Some people develop some sweat on the palms .. that’s all there is to it .. Nadella just was probably drying his hands (he had faced media since being head of Microsoft) so he knew removing a handkerchief would have been worse …. all in all it just looks like a standard reaction to something in ones own hands and he just wiped them together … and yes for the presstitudes this is great

This is what Mr. Modi and his fan boys did to get power. Do you think, Rahul Gandhi or Sonia are exactly the way it was portraited by fan boys that include you? After getting all benefits from press, now Modi and team introduced new term ‘presstitude’ and actually you guys started this practice.

    No matter what u say
Each and every planning is like playing a game of chess in which u look out for Opportunity to prove or to implement ur point
I am not a Modi hatter but I like to look into matter as a third person using different angle to see what would be the final outcome if i implement it or support the decision

Its better to see what ur vision is regarding all the decision which is taken and then share it so others are will be aware of it instead of blindly accepting the decisions saying its a very good decision

Small minds which find it difficult to understand larger issues are quick to grab such minor issues. We ought not to lose sleep over such matters.

Sir , pls let’s wait for a couple of years to see who is right and who’s wrong . I can see all that’s building up is a paper tiger known as India rising . when 99% of ur population is corrupt, can u expect more from this. Nation. There is a great tag line known as ” Just You Wait “. That’s exactly what we should do as the ruler is already in place with reigns in his hands and history will decide what he would be .

You know there is a saying every action has equal and opposite reaction. So no matter how much hatred people may spread for PM Modi the others will love him more and after his tenure of 5 years are over i am sure he will win again to shut up these media which is against him and of course the so called Critics of Social media…

Rightly said. Thank you for the article.
Why it has to be Modi lovers and Modi haters? Why not support a PM who is working tirelessly to actually do something for our country for once!? Even if he is doing 6 right and 4 wrong! Atleast he is doing 6 Right! Comparing to some who did 2,3 rights and all wrong or may be who kept quiet when everything was wrong!
By the way friends discussing or arguing over “Gaumutra” my only advice would be our PM is trying hard to wash dirt and dust off the backbone of our country and reconstructing it even harder! Let us try to support him in achieving a better life for ourselves and not bring “Religious” issues in every step that we take! Why do people always drag religion!?
This is what holding us back!
Religion over Humanity! Selfishness over sharing! Criticism over applauding!
Let us change the way we think.

I do know someone will surely express his negative opinion against mine but my request to you friends let us think constructively or else forever there will be memes on INDIA vs USA/GERMANY/UK anything! Hope you got it!

Have a great day my friends.
