Congress’s march against rising intolerance is as fake as their Gandhi Surnames

Congress’s march against rising intolerance is as fake as their Gandhi Surnames
Share on FacebookShare on X

A political party facing an existential crisis has decided to hold the entire country to ransom for its survival. Sonia Gandhi along with her followers organized a march to protest against the ‘Rising Intolerance’ fad which has the Liberals of the country in its vicious grip, a fad undoubtedly produced out of thin air by the Congress just so that it has another front to attack the BJP government with.

If the media were to be believed, India is on the verge of an apocalypse. Intolerance is rife, hopelessness is in the air and we are forced to fight a fierce enemy which seems to have gained the upper hand after the conservative govern came to power. Of course, that’s the narrative the media is trying to push and certainly not the one I support. The media has been fed the narrative by number Congress Stooges and others gullible enough to fall for the trap have come out against the government, only aggravating the situation of manufactured dissent.

Most people view the present situation as The BJP versus the Indian National Congress. It is a gross oversimplification of the whole series of events to say the least. The issue at hand is much more serious than that. It is indeed a clash of ideologies, Conservativism versus Liberalism, Right-wing versus the Left-wing. I, for one, do not believe all the people returning their awards are Congress stooges. The initiators certainly were but from then on, with concentrated Media Hype fueling the hostilities, numerous others have fallen for the narrative. And from them, that feeling of rising intolerance has spread like a virus and infected a whole lot of individuals with either liberal inclinations or from a minority.

The Left has always been against the dominant religion of the state while at the same time being lenient on the minorities. Prime examples of it are the United States of America where Christianity is attacked vehemently by the Liberals while giving Islam a free pass on most issues and India where Hinduism is attacked ridiculously by Liberals while giving Islam and Christianity a free pass. The reason for such an attitude is because if the Left is to stay relevant, it is essential that the entire minority population serves as their Vote Banks and that the majority is divided. The reason why the Indian Liberals see BJP as a threat is because in Narendra Modi they see a person who can unite the Hindus under one banner. If such a scenario comes to pass, then the Left will be obliterated as Hindus comprise of over 75% of the Indian population. Hence, to prevent that from happening, it is essential that the BJP is portrayed as anti-Dalit, anti-minorities, only then can they stay relevant in the Indian Democracy.

Also, all Leftists and most Liberals suffer from a warped Worldview where every time and on all issues, Liberals are always right and the Conservatives are always wrong. Such is the narrative that the facts must adhere to and if facts don’t, then they must be highlighted selectively so that they fit the narrative. Nayantara Sehgal gives us a remarkable insight into how the Liberal mind works when she says the atmosphere is worse because there’s a Hindutva Government at the Center. Well, according to her it seems, Riots under a Secular Government are bad, but not as bad as Riots under a Hindutva Government. Yes, that’s the kind of bigotry that manifests in the mind of the Liberal.

Thus, we see the kind of mindset that is responsible for this vitriolic political climate that the country is suffering from. The Congress is trying to use the general sense of discomfort among the Liberals about a Conservative government at the Center for its own benefit. And even if things are going well, they must be painted as negative and the paranoia of liberals is such that they are forever ready to fall for such a propaganda.

Kamal Haasan made a remarkable statement today when he finally decided to share his views against the whole Award Wapsi trend when he said Intolerance has existed in this country since 1947 and Intolerance is what led to the partition of this nation. In light of this fact, if even after 68 years of independence, India continues to suffer the brunt of intolerance, isn’t the Congress who should be blamed for their utter failure to control Communal Tension between the communities? But of course, where’s the Congress’ benefit in that? If there’s a Giant to slay, it’s in Congress’ interest to keep the Giant alive so that it can garner the sympathy of the Intellectual Classes with the promise of slaying the giant because according to Liberal ideology, Conservatives are incapable of slaying that Giant because they are hand in gloves with it.

Imagine if Social Media wasn’t as relevant in today’s society as it is today and people mainly relied on the Mainstream News Channels for their daily dose of news. It can be safely said that the credentials of BJP would have suffered an irredeemable blow. But thankfully, the Social Media has handed over great power to the masses to judge for themselves the entire scenario and form their own conclusions. And sadly for the Congress, their vicious propaganda has come under severe scrutiny and they have been horribly exposed for the frauds they are.

Also, people would do well to remember that the Congress has no motive to fight the real intolerance in our society simply because it’s not in their interest. The BJP must control intolerance to maintain its Tolerant Credentials but for the Congress, simply blaming the BJP for the intolerance is enough to get them elected without ever addressing the cause.

Also, it must be highlighted that some of the worst cases of intolerance is in States where the BJP isn’t in power. Assam is festering with Communal Tension and it has a Congress Government which seems to be totally incompetent in fighting it and even disinterested may be. Kerala which has a government does not have a great record of Tolerance for Hinduism either. West Bengal which has a Trinamool government has Durga Pujo banned in some of its villages because the minorities object to the festival. The Communal Tension in Uttar Pradesh is pretty relevant in the grand scheme of things and even that state doesn’t have a BJP government. Bihar where caste politics has been rife for so many years doesn’t have a BJP government as of yet. Recently, the AIADMK government in Tamil Nadu had a folk singer charged with sedition for composing a song critical of the establishment. So how exactly is the BJP exclusively responsible for rising intolerance? And if intolerance is on the rise, then shouldn’t these State Governments be blamed for failing pathetically to enforce the Law of the Country?

But let’s push such obvious questions to the back of our minds and rant on about Rising Intolerance under the BJP regime because that’s what we Liberals do, we love fighting against injustice, whether fact or fiction. Amazing. Only in Fascist Countries can rising intolerance be singularly blamed on the ruling establishment and it seems the Liberals of our country have forgotten that we aren’t living in one. And a good little piece of advice for the Congress, if debate is what you want, you should do it inside the Parliament and not create a ruckus outside of it after wasting an entire session of the Lok Sabha.
