Today marks the 101st birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. On this occasion, President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the grateful nation remembered the immense contributions of the Bharat Ratna awardee. Meanwhile, several political and social leaders paid tribute at Vajpayee’s memorial, “Sadaiv Atal,” in Delhi.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi also shared a video on his X handle recalling Vajpayee’s legacy. He described Vajpayee’s conduct, thoughts, and unwavering resolve as an ideal benchmark for Indian politics. Moreover, quoting a Sanskrit verse, the Prime Minister said that Vajpayee’s birth anniversary is a special opportunity to draw inspiration from his life. He further highlighted that Vajpayee always placed national interest above everything else.

President Pays Tributes at Sadaiv Atal
On the other hand, a special programme was organised in the national capital to mark the occasion. During the event, President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, and several BJP leaders offered floral tributes at Sadaiv Atal. In addition to sharing a video message online, Prime Minister Modi personally visited the memorial to pay his respects.

Apart from the Prime Minister, many other prominent personalities also remembered Vajpayee. These included former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, newly appointed BJP working president Nitin Navin, Union Health Minister J. P. Nadda, and several religious leaders, who attended a musical tribute programme at the memorial. Overall, the day reflected a collective remembrance of Vajpayee’s enduring legacy and values.
PM will Unveil Grand Statues of Atal Bihari Vajpayee
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Rashtra Prerna Sthal, built under the Vasant Kunj scheme, today. Preparations for the programme have been completed. He will also unveil grand statues of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Syama Prasad Mukherjee, and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. A museum built to preserve the memories and contributions of these leaders will also be inaugurated.
